Plot Manipulation vs Resistance to Reality Warping

Now to me, PM seems a lot like realuty warping. I mean "changing the story to get what you want" just sounds like decent reality warping. The page is even outright called a,variation of Reality Warping. Therefore, should you gain resistance to this power (to an extant) if you have resistance to RWing, since they're the same thing with different applications?

Depends on how potent the Reality Warping resistance is.

Some verses treat their "Reality" as the supreme thing, encompassing Plot, fate, and all that other OP jazz. So by resisting warping reality on a scale that encompasses EVERYTHING including Plot, fate, quantum, etc. then yes. Resistance to RW would allow you to resist Plot.

If it's left ambiguous, I think Plot should bypass RW Resistance since plot is usually considered to be a meta thing while Reality Warping is more a "Lesser" power that's used in fiction. Again, heavily depends on potencies of both.

Like example: Bill having the Plot Manipulation powers of being able to change the Introduction card to fit his wants. That is... almost certainly not combat applicable. and if the opponent resists Reality Warping from a being in a verse where Reality is shown to be superior to Plot Manipulation... yes. Resistance wins here.

@Homo

I have no idea why passive PM is considered to be innately superior to passive FM. One day I'll make a thread about that.

Plot shouldn't innately be superior to fate.

It's quite literally interchangeable.

In one verse, the plot could be the almight force that controls the entire story.

In another, Fate could rule over plot. Like it's fate that the plot of the story goes a certain way, because Fate has dictated it.

Back to the topic of the thread....I don't really like the idea of resistance to reality warping granting resistance to other things that aren't reality warping....With the one exception being a type of resistance to reality warping that contains the abiity the character is trying to resist.
