One Piece General Discussion: Elbaph

So because Katakuri's Power Mochi is strong enough to damage BM Luffy through his rubber body, that makes it stronger? So we should just ignore Luffy easily breaking through Katakuri's Armament defense or Katakuri's "superior haki" not hurting Luffy's hand like the other times when Kata hit it with Power Mochi to deflect Kong Gong?
Luffy never punched Power Mochi with Gear 4th.
Might as well say Cracker's Haki is also stronger than WCI BM Luffy's too since he could also damage his body.
He does.

Luffy never punched Power Mochi with Gear 4th.
I know, but Power Mochi still hit his arm when it deflected Kong Gun (which resulted in sparks) and there was no pain reaction from Luffy. Meanwhile, just blocking Kaido's kanabo in Ch. 1009 hurt Luffy's hands and arms due to Kaido's haki being superior.

How when Bound Man easily overpowered Cracker's armament more than once?

How impressive is Noland feat of moving the earth?
Apologies, but did this ever get an answer? I am also interested in this topic, & it is a question that was asked inthe last post of a page, so I worry it may have been missed.

Hard disagree.

Katakuri even with his Power Mochi never met BM Luffy's strength head on even once like he did the armament attacks of the other versions of Luffy he fought. As those panels at the bottom show, opted to deflect a Kong Gun from the side when usually he would've tried to overpower it. Katakuri is inferior to BM Luffy's sheer physical power + haki and there's nothing wrong with that.
You are wrong.

Now I can agree with Cracker's Armament being relative to Bound Man's. The same with Katakuri.
No.

Katakuri has clear superiority in haki.

We already know base luffy Haki < base katakuri haki

Luffy says base katakuri's tough haki can't stand up against gear 4.
0884-005.png

Then when katakuri used power mochi (DF + Haki), luffy himself literally says he's tough again in Gear 4th. Literally confirming that he is still superior in armament haki

Like there is no way you can "hard disagree" on this unless you're just biased or dishonest

Not against Bound Man

Never denied that

Wth? Luffy saying Katakuri is tough again wasn't him confirming that Katakuri was still superior in Armament Haki, he doesn't even specifically mention Katakuri's Armament in that panel. That was him referring to Katakuri back to being hard to hit again after his Observation had returned. You also showed the panel of Katakuri striking Luffy's arm to redirect his Kong Gun with his haki and yet it doesn't leave his arm hurting at all like clashing with Katakuri in his weaker forms or blocking Kaido's kanabo did. And once again, Katakuri deliberately deflecting Kong Gun instead of meeting it head on doesn't support his superiority.

Like there is no way you can "hard disagree" on this unless you're just biased or dishonest
Now this some funny shit right here after this dishonest ass argument you just tried to use to prove Katakuri's haki is superior. Furthermore, considering some of your past interactions with other members, you don't have any room to be calling anyone biased or dishonest.

... I'm not showing you the panel of katakuri hitting luffy's arm

It doesn't hurt because he's redirecting the attack, he isn't clash against it...

Boundman luffy hits base katakuri and says his tough haki can't stand up to gear 4...

Power mochi Katakuri hits Boundman luffy and luffy says he's tough again... He says that LITERALLY the first time katakuri uses power mochi against boundman and nearly leaves him unconscious, that has nothing to do with obs haki. You're either clueless or being disingenuous again.

You're 100% being dishonest. You literally just HARD disagreed on something completely reasonable... You then later says their relative instead of your original claim of boundman being superior

I also dare you to bring up any situation where I was being dishonest. The amount of times I say "I think" and stuff similar is insane because I'm not trying to be biased, dishonest or anything alike

Was gonna try finding more scans that might confirm that katakuri's Haki was superior and such but at this point I just don't care, katakuri is weaker than boundman, sure

The sole reason I commented to begin with was because I went to go check the chapter just for myself to see if boundman really was superior, which then I saw was not true after having analysed it

The panel of Katakuri hitting Luffy's arm to deflect Kong Gun is literally there in your previous response. 💀

It doesn't hurt because he's redirecting the attack, he isn't clash against it...

1. Luffy wasn't clashing against Kaido's kanabo in Ch. 1009 when he blocked it and yet it still hurt his hands and arms.

2. According to Kachon, sparks are an indication of a clash. And there are clear visible sparks when Kata hits Luffy's arm with Power Mochi...and yet no pain reaction.

Boundman luffy hits base katakuri and says his tough haki can't stand up to gear 4...

Bound Man Luffy also says Katakuri is tough right after he transformed at the end of Ch. 883 and if you had actually bothered to read the entire context of Luffy's statement after that instead of cherry picking his "tough haki can't stand up to gear 4" line to fit your argument, you'd know he was calling Katakuri tough because of his observation haki and was never confirming Katakuri's armament was superior to Bound Man's with his "he's become tough again" line.

Power mochi Katakuri hits Boundman luffy and luffy says he's tough again...He says that LITERALLY the first time katakuri uses power mochi against boundman and nearly leaves him unconscious, that has nothing to do with obs haki.

The first time Katakuri hits Bound Man with Power Mochi is in Ch. 884 and no Luffy doesn't LITERALLY say he's tough again because of that. He actually doesn't say anything.

He says it in Ch. 885 after he's been fighting Katakuri for a while. It's no coincidence that he originally called Katakuri tough mainly due to his observation haki and then say he's back to being tough again after Katakuri's Future Sight has returned. And this exchange between BM Luffy and Katakuri in that chapter makes that even clearer:

You're either clueless or being disingenuous again.
You're confusing me with yourself

You're 100% being dishonest.

Once again, you of all people have no room to be calling anyone on this site dishonest.

You literally just HARD disagreed on something completely reasonable...
First of all, this is HILARIOUS considering all the times I've seen you disagree on actual completely reasonable takes from other members. 😆😆😆

Second of all, I disagreed with it hard because it wasn't completely reasonable and it's as simple as that.

You then later says their relative instead of your original claim of boundman being superior

That's not what I said. What I actually said was that I could agree with that over you guys saying Katakuri's and Cracker's Armament is superior to Bound Man's. I still think Bound Man's Armament is stronger.

I also dare you to bring up any situation where I was being dishonest.
Fine. You're always dishonest when it comes to Yonko vs Admirals discussions and Mihawk and Shanks discussions for starters

The amount of times I say "I think" and stuff similar is insane because I'm not trying to be biased, dishonest or anything alike

Then you should try harder

Was gonna try finding more scans that might confirm that katakuri's Haki was superior and such but at this point I just don't care, katakuri is weaker than boundman, sure

Whatever. Atp I don't care either because I've said all I've had to say on this and I'm moving on.

The sole reason I commented to begin with was because I went to go check the chapter just for myself to see if boundman really was superior, which then I saw was not true after having analysed it
Then your analysis was wrong since Bound Man Luffy was superior

Yonko vs admirals? Like how? It’s has many times implied and stated yonko’s are superior (unless you wanna say all fleet admirals and above are even much stronger than yonkos since admirals are lower than them, making no sense at all)

There’s no way you’re bringing up Mihawk and shanks when I’ve remain neutral all this time on who beats who… in terms of strength… shanks win feat wise… in terms of vague statement Mihawk wins In strength

Both are never confirmed who’s superior to each other in a fight, only that Mihawk has better sword skills (while most likely shanks has greater haki)
Then you should try harder
No I shouldn’t.
Then your analysis was wrong since Bound Man Luffy was superior
Delusional.

How you’re trying to contribute everything to katakuri being tough = only obs haki is absolute bs

Katakuri says we are back at the starting point against boundman, which would mean katakuri would still be superior overall (power, haki and such) as he was already superior prior

And Luffy confirms that aswell by saying he’s tough again like when it was pre gear 4th Luffy vs base katakuri.

Again, you’re being disingenuous and dishonest

The panel of luffy’s attack getting redirected isn’t why I linked the scan, it’s for the statement from Luffy after getting hit by power Mochi for the first time, nearly getting knocked out (something boundman couldn’t even do against base katakuri)

I didn't even read any of this, which I'm sure is another dishonest response from you, because I clearly told you in my last response I didn't care about this anymore and was moving on. What part of that did you not understand?

And you replied to me saying it aswell… it’s you that’s not understanding anything 😴

Truth, was thinking of apologizing for having maybe been too harsh but didn't really know how to initiate that or if it was a good idea at the time

I don't know why it's questionable that Post-Udon Base Luffy is superior to Pre-Udon G4 Luffy, as if we haven't seen Luffy surpass his previous strongest Gear in his Base form before lol.
I'm going to be honest and i don't care if you all think my take its bulls**t, but the justification for Post-WCI Base Luffy = Katakuri is far from unquestionable, if not quite flawed, similar to the notion that Post-Udon Base Luffy >= Early Wano/Pre-Udon Gear 4th Luffy. Nothing in this statement gives me the impression that Katakuri was referring to Luffy's power level. Rather, he learned to respect Luffy due to his resilience and determination to actually fight him and win.

First, after bringing Katakuri into the mirror world he break the glass making it clear that he isn't going to fighting him to protect his crew. Then instead of running away from the fight after taking Brûlée hostage or waiting for Katakuri’s Observation Haki to weaken, Luffy actually wanted to defeat him at full strength, as Luffy mention he wasn't going to escape again. Then, in the middle of the fight, Luffy ended up unlocking Future Sight—an ability that no ordinary person can just pull off, which allow him to start dodging Katakuri's attacks as well and even pairing them. Later, when Luffy was handicapped by Flampe's interference, he neither complained nor mentioned what was happening and instead continued fighting. When Katakuri realized this, he scolded Flampe for interfering in their battle and even heavely wounded himself to make the fight fairer.

Besides, if Base Luffy had truly become as strong and fast as Katakuri, then he wouldn’t have needed to use any of his Gear 4th forms—at that point his Gear 2nd and Gear 3rd would have been enough to outspeed and overpower Katakuri, which wasn’t the case. Sure Base Luffy did manage to land a hit, but it happen twice (first when Katakuri lost his calm which made him vulnerable to attack, and then after Luffy unlocked Future Sight) and Katakuri was still potrayed as too strong, which is why Luffy ultimately decided to use Snakeman. And Luffy making Katakuri bleed once is not a really good way to demostrate that they are equal, the Nine Scabbards made Kaido bleed but we was still far stronger than all of them combined, same with Luffy VS Doffy or other instances. And no, nothing suggest that Katakuri was also getting stronger or faster in the middle of the fight, there aren't statements which refer on this.

The more i look at the current scaling across Whole Cake Island Saga and Wano Saga, the more i think those power clipping should be seriously put into scrutiny.

For the past few days, I've really started to see why Kachon feels the way he does about Yamato. And I'll just leave it at that since I know she has some shooters on this site and we don't need anymore unnecessary arguing lol.
You gon get banned if care ain't taken

You are not going to get banned in our forum, but the official Fandom staff began to ban anybody they felt misgendered Yamato, even though it was left ambiguous within the story whether Yamato identifies as a male or female.

Personally I think that the Fandom staff have been extremely overreacting regarding Yamato, and that we should begin to use their own official wiki indexing standards for transgendered characters, rather than go considerably further than they do in that regard.

Meaning, that we should use "Assigned female at birth. Identifies as male." or "Assigned male at birth. Identifies as female." in "Gender" sections, and a character's preferred pronouns elsewhere in their wiki profile page. 🙏

If we were to hypothetically do that for whatever reason, aesthetically I think it should be done the same way as stuff like Ace's name, where the current stuff is first and former info is after.

Okay, I get it now. I keep forgetting that is a huge issue on this wiki. And I've already deleted my comment.

That is perfectly fine. I just think that we should follow Fandom's own encyclopaedic standard conventions. 🙏

I know there was a huge controversy about it, but it was never ambiguous, Yamato's vivre card says she is female. Luffy says she is female (literally first thing he says to her once she takes off her mask). She is then featured in all-female cover page spread drawn by Oda. Image related. Anyone banning people for referring to her as female is disagreeing with Oda.
