One Piece General Discussion: Elbaph

and he was weaker than Luffy anyway.
Woah there, I wouldn't rush to say this.

While I do have Luffy above Kizaru, it's for reasons outside of their fight. To me, it seemed like neither of them went all out in that fight. The Admirals' full power have been, at least in my opinion, left ambiguous on purpose. It seems like Oda is just now showing more of their abilities now that we're in the Final Saga than he did earlier, considering Kizaru and Kuzan are now using new abilities we never saw during Marineford (unless we want to say they both just got several abilities since then).

I feel like Oda wanted to show us that the Admirals aren't a joke while not showing his whole hand, but at the same time establish that Luffy is in fact a Yonko. He made sure to not make Kizaru go all out, but also gave Luffy a win without him going all out himself.

Hopefully I'm making sense?

I get it, but Kizaru did injure him by using the field against him, he had more knowledge of Luffy than Luffy had of him, and he had the "Luffy is a total idiot" advantage.

Luffy didn't open with G5, or even Boundman, or even G2. He started with Buso in his base form, went to Snakeman, then went G5, while Kizzy was just doing normal stuff the whole time, and he didn't even use Hao until the end. Kizaru had opportunities to land hits while his opponent was in weaker forms. They were evenly matched despite all this, and Luffy won.

Blackbeard is rly a fraud bro idk why mfs hype him up to be in Top 3 current strongest characters. Blud thinks beating on Low Top tiers and Commander tier characters is putting him at Top 1💀

Yeah I pretty much agree with you, but the narrative implication was that Kizaru wasn't going all out or even couldn't go all out for certain reasons.

Before even landing in the island, he said that he can't really fight as much as he wanted to due to there being a net loss if he destroys Vegapunk's things. Also during the fight, he went to kill Vegapunk at any moment he could, moreso focusing on getting rid of Luffy to kill Vegapunk rather than on putting him down for good. Even after he got hit with Star Gun, Saturn commented that Kizaru is being more sloppy/slow (depending on the translation) than usual, further proving the point that this fight shouldn't really be used to put Kizaru down, but more to solidify Luffy as a god tier.

You think Akainu is weaker than Scabbards and Rooftop Novas?...
Did you just ignore Kaidou beating the shit out of the Scabbards casually
On another note, yall should drop your tier list: https://tiermaker.com/create/one-piece-powerscale--1381894
Imma use a different tier list because this doesn't have all the characters.
I refuse to believe you think Akainu loses to BASE Kaidou.
Admirals disappointing me recently man ngl

Alright, could you link it so I could do the same and we can compare

True, but Oda won't disappoint
This is an extraordinarily rough draft of mine, a good amount of the stuff here isn't my actual opinion and I just didn't know where to place some of them or wasn't sure about them

Feels really weird having people like Katakuri in YC3 but I couldn't put him above Queen and Sento as that'd just be dishonest

What happened to Zoro, Sanji, and Kid 😭
Again, rough draft, I didn't put them in yet.
But I'd have Sanji above Queen, and below Sento and Ace
Zoro on Admiral level (everyone I have on Admiral level is equal though I think Zoro and Yamato could possibly be a bit above them if we consider their feats against Kaidou and what not)

Honestly if we get confirmation that Rocks really did 1v2 Garp and Roger, I'd put him into his own tier
Oh 100%
I'd only put Kuzan more closer to Akainu
There's something about Current Akainu that makes me want to put him that high... idk. Also that's like the one part I'm not willing to compromise on lol Red Dog supemacy

Took some time. Most of the characters in individual tiers move around depending on my mood, but I think the tiering itself is pretty accurate at least.

Pretty good list, i would've put Yamato in tier 2 though. And also would've put post ts Aokiji higher than Kizaru.

Only Admiral that hasn't showed us nothing post timeskip, feels just like Mihawk, Dragon, Shanks, etc.
