It's pretty clear that Base Pre-Udon Luffy was doing a much better job against Kata than pre-WCI Gear 3 did (maybe not Gear 4).

Wasn't base Luffy somewhat matching and at least somewhat harming base-only Kata for a few hours late in their fight?
Seems to me like Post Kata Luffy >= Pre-Kata G3 Luffy in AP too.

pre wci gear 3rd got overpowered by a super large punch. base luffy was still getting punched around by regular sized hits
because he's not over gear 3rd

By injuring Katakuri when he was wounded and not guarding with Haki. Smh

Even if Pre-Udon Base Luffy isn't as strong as Base Kata (who in Base scales above Oven's 312 megatons), he should at least still be comparable

Luffy far outscales Dressrosa/WCI/Early wano G4 even in base form after awakening CoC Infusion.
But that's for the post-wano revisions
