Am I the only one who love how Luffy's backstory and Shank is potrayed, maybe it is just some perverse part of me.
A good question, if you could have the Oda design an island for you and have the Straw Hat visit them in some filler arc, what kind of island would it be.
I would want them to visit an island that I will called Disease Island(original name ikr) where diseases of all kinds populate every inch of this island, and where it is almost guaranteed that merely stepping on the soil will infect a visitor no matter how sturdy they are. As a result, everything that steps foot on the island will find themselves significantly weakened, and those too weak will be put on the brink of death by the pathogens infesting their body. It be a potential story arc for Chopper who want to find the All-Cure and starting with Afliction Island, home to the deadiest diseases in the world of One Piece, would be the best way to find that cure. Trying to cure all the poor animal and people on the island.
Either that of a Hollywood-inspired island, called Brightwood. Won't it be interesting to see all sort of famous people in the world that aren't pirates, marines, and bounty hunters. We could have the One Piece version of a movie theatre. And we could even have a Walk of Fame where it features the names of many famous individuals like movie stars, pirates, marines etc. on golden stars embedded in the ground. It be an awesome sight to see Luffy and Co. on the Walk of Fame or even get their own movie in-verse.
