One Piece Discussion Thread #5

How OP do you guys think Blackbeard would be if he had the powers of every df revealed so far as well as complete mastery over each of them and Haki? I was debating with another person the other day and this topic came up.

Essentially you're talking about Composite-OP; a hypothetical person with the powers of every character so far.

Such a character would be ridiculously powerful; completely invisible, and silent, able to hop over to a couple different pocket dimensions, and turn anyone they touch into a toy that nobody can remember. Able to travel at the speed of lightning or the speed of light if they pleased, and bypass durability by cutting through space and stealing the lifespan of anyone that feared them.

I've always had the theory that if the Sea Devil was a real person then they would probably be able to use every DF power.

Anyway Damage is right a person with every DF would be insanely haxed. They would be able to/have: multiple forms of regen, multiple forms of elemental intangibility and manipulation, remove and manipulate souls (through fear), manipulate shadows. reject pretty much anything with their hands, bypass durability and regen, blunt force resistance, immunity to slicing attack, slow down things for 30 seconds, and gravity manipulation. They could turn people in art and toys that nobody remebers. Manipulate your age as well as other people's ages, manipulate and remove memories, and travel forward in time.

I have this theory about One Piece x Worm crossover where a different set of Entities arrived inthe world of One Piece.

One of the two distrubute out their shards to the world in the form of the Devil Fruits, manipulating the placement of it to be found or eaten by people most suitable for their power - the eaters will then be able to utilize the powers and beta test them for the Entity, while when they are ready to Seed they become the seeds of new Devil Fruits.

The other basically passively affects the whole of the population - gradually increasing their natural ability and statistics to survive (So is responsible for humans in one piece being so tough, and for the iffy usage of Physics in that universe) while handing out powers to specific few individuals (So was responsible for the power of those Normal humans in One Piece like Mihawk or Shanks who both are extraodinary powerful). Together, the Entities proceed with their plan, facilitating conflicts in their hosts which resulted in the conflict within the Void Century (The hidden history is that powers, fishmen and other such things didn't exist before then) and the buildup of the Pirates VS Marines VS Revolutionaries conflict.

All this talk makes me wonder who the strongest OP villain will be EOS

Blackbeard, Akainu and Im seem like final villain material but it's completely possible we'll see someone or something new appear as well

I could actually see this pretty sure the devils been mentioned a few times

Maybe when Vegapunk explains the mystery of what DF's are we'll know

There was a theory a while back that Kaido could be the last of the Sea Devil's, but could now be that Im is one instead.

If Roblin + Sugar DF works at the same time, it would be OP
I honestly completely forgot about Robin lol. Yeah, a composite OP character is pretty broken.

Imagine if Luffy had to fight someone like that at the end of his series? I can't even fathom how he'd be able to beat such a character.

Wow, this chapter was...

  • Kamazou the Manslayer: Probably other of the three strong samurai the alliance is looking for. At first his story sounds like Zorojuro's introduction as a wandering ronin slashing people during night but it's not the same since the districts doesn't seem to be the same.
  • The Witching Hour Boy, some kind of Wano-esque Robin Hood. Also there's a guy who looks like a monkey, like the Monkey in the Zodiac from Hunter x Hunter but without the fancy clothes.
  • Nami actually heard about something very interesting. We've seen that the rebels has no weapons to help in the rebellion but with this information on Nami's head now there's the solution.
  • * Also, one of the men said something about starting a war which is very suspicious if you think about Kaido's words during his first aparition. He's attempting to create the maximum war over the world, but against who? Or why?
  • The guy staring at Sangoro is something to notice. He isn't a Commander since we have seen them the previous chapter and there's no use shadowing him. It's probably somebody under Shogun's commandment or the third strong samurai.
  • It's strange to me Oda emphatized so much in giving a name to the old man. Grandpa Hyou is repeated too much during the chapter so I have my doubts about how worhtless is that geezer.
  • Caribou is a prison beach just like TFS Vegeta.
  • That stranger prisoner is again looking at Luffy. There's a spanish YouTuber who theorized that he's a samurai since he has been a prisoner so long ago that nobody remembers or even knows 'what' is inside and he burped after eating the fish. Japan is one of the little known countries where burping is a good manner. The theory is a little more extense but basically it says that guy is Oden's father.
  • Loved Luffy's face in page 17.
Possibly new feats:

Usopp's Stealth Mastery (Managed to give the card to a samurai without him noticing)

And Seastone is no longer a good way to restrain Luffy and Kid. They can lift huge stone cubes (Kid one-handed) and transport at least several thousands. With 5 stones you get one ticket for a kibidango and look at the huge amount of kibidangos both earned. I think it's safe to say there're more than 500 kibidangos if not even more.

Also they easily beat Dobon who should be comparable to Sheepshead (since both are head-liners) who was roughly comparable to Brook during Zou Arc.

And more strange input about those healing process. Luffy can partially regenerate eating meat, or grows a tooth with milk, and recover from fatal injuries in the run of days. Looks like some amount of characters's bodies don't follow normal rules. During Whole Cake Luffy came back to normal after using G4 with the justification of wasting too much calories (IIRC G2 did the same thing Pre TS) but now he can do it in Base and Kid as well.

All of that was done with the Seastone handscuffs with is strong enough to don't let Robin use any force against Spandam who is weaker than a regular marine soldier. During Arabasta just one touch rendered Luffy so weak that he couldn't stand at all but now we see Kid and Luffy just 'nope' that weakness. Resistance to Power Nullification? They aren't using DF's powers with the handcuffs but they shouldn't be able to do it since Seastone renders DF's users weak to the point they can barely stand.

Luffy and Kid had a good feat this chapter. Also, it isn't resistance to power nullification; rather the seastone only reduces their strength and their reduced strength is still enough to let them carry those blocks of stones around.

But beating that hippo guy isn't a good one... Not all Headliners are comparable since X Drake and Hawkins are also Headliners.

This is what the Seastone makes against Luffy during Arabasta. In that state he can't even lift his arms and that's just the tip with little contact.

Luffy states that he feel his strength is being sucked out. So the Seastone nulls the DF's abilities and absorbs the user's general strength.

Aye - so Luffy in the prison has reduced strength, but he's so much stronger than his Alabasta self that even though he has a fraction of his strength he's still able to do that much manual work.

Here is the first calc of the two. The second one should be up in a while.

Yeah damage is right Luffy back then is thousands of times weaker than current Luffy. So his strength isn't reduced as much.

Now if Luffy can stretch or someone comparable to him collapses due to Seastone then I will agree with power nullification. Untill something like this happens no its not.

I'm not confortable with the argument that the Seastone restrains X power. Isn't something that dwarfs the power by a set amount.

The way I understand Damage's argument is that Arabasta Luffy is 100 and the Seastone absorbs 95 of that power but Wano Luffy is 200 and so with the handcuffs he's 105.

That's not the way Seastone works.

No, I didn't mean it like that.

Let's say that Seastone restrains 99% of a persons power.

So Alabasta Luffy had 100 strength, and Wano Luffy has 10,000 strength.

With 99% of his strength reduced, Wano Luffy would still have 100 Strength. Whereas Alabasta Luffy have just 1 strength.

See what I mean?
