Is the wording of these sentences is specific enough to get an idea of how these bodies were/would be destroyed (i.e, fragmentation, pulverization, vaporization)?

小惑星程度なら、残骸も残さずに破壊する火力が、宇宙怪獣たちの群れを白い光で包みこんだ。

2017 コロンビア大学、縮退兵器・光子魚雷の実験に成功。フオボス消失

"残骸も残さずに破壊する", and "消失" suggests complete destruction,so vaporization would be the closest thing here
