New Way to Calc Pillar Explosions (Brought to You By Dragon Maid)

So over on Discord, DMUA talked of a way to calc pillar explosions that I have only ever seen used once before.

That was in this Dragon Maid calc.

At the time, this method for the Dragon Maid calc was dismissed, seemingly for the reason of "this isn't how we calc explosions."

But, again, recently it's been suggested this method could actually be valid. Specifically, the method involves calculating the KE of the air being pushed up by the explosion. I don't know exactly where to start with this discussion, but ideally it ends with the community coming to a solid conclusion on whether or not this method can be used.

Yeah

Normally, an explosion is supposed to be a hemispherical wave of pressure, but fiction kinda just doesn't do that sometimes, so another way to do things is just treat cylinders like this as cylinders

I dunno if what I just said makes sense but
