NEW Proposal/Story writing section (STAFF DISCUSSION)

Hello.


I'm not sure if many of you will agree with this idea, so I will go ahead and mention it, as there isn't much to explain.

—Well. Just like in this forum we got the Fun and games community, and the FC/OC VS BATTLES one, I thought it would be fun if we add a Creative writing/Fanfiction or writing section.

This could add more dynamism and be potentially attractive for more people to join this site. Think about it of a way of exchanging ideas, sharing our thoughts and disconnecting ourselves from the headache Content revisions, Versus threads, General discussions etc affect and tire our mental state, a way of having a breath of fresh air out of vs debates without getting into serious stuff like political or personal dramas.

I have been asked to move this thread to Staff Discussion since you plan to revise something that involves the forum in some way, but I would like to know if you have permission from any staff to have created this thread previously?

All threads posted here (Staff Forum) have to have prior permission and verification from a staff member.

Fun and games is more for jokes & vs debates and stuff.

This writing section would aim more serious goals and ambience

I think that this would likely shift away too much from the intended points of this community, and there is a risk that inappropriate types of stories would be posted, or ones that create hostility between our members, and there are also already other fanfiction communities, such as Fanfiction.net available.

I mean, not necessarely.

We got on this site the Fun & Games and joke stuff sections where people deviate from powerscaling and talk about completely unreleated stuff.
This proposal is not political and not controversial, there are other forums who also got other sections and the main focus of VS debating isn't overshadowed, like Comicvine and Spacebattles I believe.
In regards potential damaging, provocative and stories of that style, well, would be good if we have some mods reviewing and/or checking this threads.

To avoid potential hostilities, we can do a type of replying where it's only intended for reviews and users can't answer each other directly. Or simply make the replies being private and only directed towards the author of said fanfic, but not a general chat.

It is hard enough for our evaluating staff to attempt to keep up with content revision and wiki management threads alone, so adding to their to-do-lists even further by demanding that they read lots of fan stories that they have no interests in seems like a bad idea, especially as we would also open up for "revenge-satire" stories targeting other members here.

I personally just see this as another method to allow in Fun & Games and/or General Discussions. I personally find it unnecessary to make an entire board dedicated for fanfiction/fan theory discussions.

FCOC already exists and all we talk about there are people's personal writings and fan fictions. Come over if you wanna join in on that. I welcome you.

You can just make a thread in the Fun and Games category for this. No need for there to be an entire category
