I am getting frustrated by that he isn't more active when we genuinely need his help though.

I mean, there is no need to rush this. Crab and i are not exaggarating when we say that 4.44 was one single giant hotpot of new concepts. Shit like how the gates of Guf lead to a freaking negative universe, the Book of Life, the movie set etc. 4.44 seriously tried to establish a massive cosmology within the last 30 minutes of runtime, and with Anno basically noping the **** outta Evangelion in general after this movie, we will be stuck with that. Just leave Shinji (And maybe Gendo? Dunno if he scales) at the end.
