Logically, that story thread needs to be followed up.
But at the same time, there are precedents for the series setting up intriguing lore and not following up on it as well as it should.
It's anyone's guess how this one will go. But I will say, this has a better chance of getting followed up on due to Omnipotence's relevance to the story.

I'm not using a calc, just the destruction of her dimension and assuming it's similar in size to our own SS since it's described as parallel in the novels

Kakashi says that they wouldn't be able to return to Kaguya's root dimension if the orb gets too large which is why they had to stop Kaguya quickly, so it seems like the orb would over most if not all of the dimension in a short period of time
