Naruto Speed

It was stated in the canon Gaara light novel that the average wind or lightning jutsu travels at supersonic speed. "Right before his eyes, a kunai was rushing towards him with supersonic speed. It's speed was equal to that of a wind or lightning release." Can this be use to calculate feats? Like, Sasuke enhancing real lightning speed against Itachi? At the most you can say that the fodder that launch kunais attack at supersonic speed, feat greater than supersonic there is more in Naruto and no mention of the Kirin that far surpasses Massively Hipersonic+ characters. So the statement can not be used for it. And no, the novels are not canon, they are official material but at no time have been considered as part of his work by Kishimoto so they are not canon.
 
We tend to count feats above author intentions.
