My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

Is there any possible way for this movie to fit into the canon or will it just be disregarded like them old dragon ball z movies? Lol

I can prove that at least half of them aren't.

Personally in my opinion from strongest to weakest attacks (out of these six) are

1. Faux 100% smash
2. Howitzer Impact Cluster
3. Plasma Cannon
4. Keraunos
5. Great Glacial Aegir
6. Prominence Burn

Horikoshi's thoughts on the International Audience of MHA, Recent interview on VIZ

Interviewer: Congratulations on My Hero Academia reaching 100 million copies in circulation worldwide! The English versions consistently appear on North American bestseller lists. What do you think about this global success?

Kohei Horikoshi: Honestly, it doesn’t feel real to me.

Interviewer: Why is that?

Kohei Horikoshi: I feel it’s largely due to the efforts of those selling and promoting the manga overseas. I don’t feel like I accomplished this alone. It feels like I’ve been lifted up by those who set up the distribution channels and decided to air the anime abroad. I feel like that 100 million copies was a collaborative effort, rather than something I achieved myself.

Interviewer: That’s quite humble of you.

Kohei Horikoshi: It’s not humility; it’s more like, “Is this really okay?”

Interviewer: International readers evaluate manga quite strictly. Many people stop reading it halfway through if they find it boring, so My Hero Academia’s continued sales success means that many people find it entertaining.

Kohei Horikoshi: Well, if you put it that way… No, thank you. Really. It must mean that people are acknowledging it as a quality series.

Another PV for the coming movie.

Seems like I don't have to worry about scaling at all, what appears to be the strongest version of Dark Might is casually no-selling everything Todoroki and Bakugo unleash on him. Man is straight up disrespecting them by blocking their attacks with the palm of his hand like it's nothing. These are good heat resistance feats as well.

Wonder who Endeavor is fighting to unleash his Prominence Burn. He seems to not be fighting the same mooks that everyone else is and is in the sky above the city. I also think that big flame we see at 1:18 seconds is him, though it could be someone else for all I know.

I'm really curious on what the Quirks of these new characters are.

Imagine if all that animation was used on the anime…

We finally gonna give Deku a High 6-C rating for his final war profile after this movie drops

It's kind of funny, but if Dark Might waited one more week before attacking, he'd be uncontested. Since he's overpowering Izuku at his strongest from what I'm seeing. Don't know if he's using Gearshift or not, but we already saw him use the Blackwhip + Fa Jin combo attack. Which is only surpassed by Overdrive in terms of power.

There's probably going to be a reason on why he's making a move now of all time, but this guy showing up after the heaviest hitters are weakened would be devastating.

Though we'd probably see Koichi and Captain Celebrity with the other international heroes, which would be pretty fire.

It would be great if the movie's plot doesn't feel as self-contained/isolated as the other movies, though they already foud a way to do that with the alternate dimension stuff.

Given Deku’s hair isn’t spiked up and glowing, and that he is constantly told and determined to not go 100% until he fights Shigaraki, I heavily doubt Dark Might is overpowering Deku’s peak. He’s in whatever casual percentage he uses when fighting Toga/flying over the ocean/sparring with Bakugo/first arriving vs ShigAFO

Izuku's hair and eyes is a bit inconsistent, since it wasn't spiked and glowing when he did his final punch and that's his greatest feat in history.

Especially in the anime as well. I'm not okay with making any claims until I actually see the movie.

Best to save that discussion until we actually have solid info.

So, 45% it is.

That's not bad at all. Dark Might will force Deku to go use Faux 100% and some other moves on that level anyways.
We already saw Faux 100% in the PV above. At least Fa Jin + Blackwhip slingshot.

If Dark Might can withstand that with no injuries, he's more durable than Quirkless Tomura. I imagine he'll be as strong or stronger than All Might was.

Though note that this is clearly not his normal level of power, he's doing something insane to make himself stronger.

However, we aren't calling it 45% unless Izuku says it's 45%. If he doesn't mention anything, we're just going to keep the OFA label.

I mean it doesn’t really matter how strong Dark Might is considering that immediately after this, it’s stated that Shigaraki is the strongest and deadliest villain of all history

So Dark Might is guaranteed below Shigaraki
Yeah, at most I think he'd be stronger than Quirkless Tomura.

Watch the movie staff mess all of this up and it ends up being not canon.

Dark Might vs Tomura will be a discussion in the future I imagine, regardless of what happens.

Dark Might is constantly getting boosts from Anna + he is seems to be using rings which might be support items. But I think the max the movie is gonna take him is Prime All Might level when he puts on the final suit.

How strong would be Shiggy or AFO on trigger. I am surprised no villain used enhancement drugs in the final war.
