My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

I'm kinda curious. When Shigaraki used Heavy Payload + Radio Waves + Air Cannon, would that mean that the pressurized air was traveling at the same speed as the Radio waves?
There was a whole thread about it and I think we came to the conclusion the Air Cannon doesn't have to be traveling at the same speed of the Radio Waves, but it can be close to it.

The question isn't why not, it's why should it.

Air Cannon + Heavy Payload means stronger and maybe faster, nothing suggest it should be SoL. Maybe faster because we don't know what Heavy Payload does beyond a generic stat increase. Fiction has an uncountable amount of examples of power being increased while speed remains the same or even gets lowered.

Also Shibuya Arc is overhyped mid

It's pretty well known that Charlie sometimes just caters to what he thinks is the norm, he doesn't always present a legitimate opinion but simply something that would get clicks. He's not the most outspoken guy he presents himself to be.
I'm not sure if that's necessary for someone of his internet fame, but it is what it is.

i read the shibuya arc before the anime even aired and i knew that shit was peak. u just dont see the vision, but that's okay.
Low standards I guess, JJK is so mediocre, just another Demon Slayer's effect, the Shibuya Arc would be good if the character were actually interesting and the deaths were actually meaningful.

Once again, this is the MHA discussion thread.

If you want to talk about another series, you should take that to the corresponding discussion thread.

Especially when someone puts down unmarked spoilers for anyone who plans to watch JJK in the future. Seriously, I only recently caught up so it's not a problem for me.

But I suggest removing such spoilers.

The next Shigaraki

I imagine the manga will end with Deku confronting this character in some way
I am still on the Deku dad theory.. His Hair has not been cut in a long while (Deku has not seen his dad in a long while), prisoner like clothes too. The muzzle on the mouth implies it's a restraint for his quirk which is activated though his mouth. Deku's dad breathes fire.

Highly doubt that. I don't see Horikoshi putting such a massive twist like that in the end of the series, not unless there is already plans for another MHA series.

Also have to explain what job Inko is because she's never been shown to work and someone has to be supporting them. Which can only be Hisashi.

I think this characters situation will not be "solved" and will instead be left open for the future. However, a problem with them being an escapee is that they looks like they just recently escaped from where ever they were. Which is weird since the country has been overrun for so long, so why are they only now breaking free?

They have scissors for some reason and their right hand's fingers are drenched in blood, though the thumb is clean. I think the house we see is where they just walked out of. If we're going with Shigaraki parallels, maybe they killed a bunch of people inside that building by accident and that is why they're crying.

Maybe the scissors were used to escape from their restraints? Maybe this was someone who was captured and held by escapees or some other kind of criminal?

I have no way of coming up with anything solid until we see more of them. A few panels with no dialogue is just not enough to get anything.

Well he did say that Deku's dad will be "revealed" that implies it's something big. The whole situation with his father is very weird. We have met Jiro, Ochako, Bakugo, Shoto, Asui and even Koda's parents, Koda doesn't even have Chapter worth of appearances. It's not like Horikoshi just completely avoids the topic of parents like in say Tokyo Revengers or Windbreaker.

You would think he would call when his son got into UA ? Or even call every week atleast. Or showup when his son almost died against Muscular. Not to mention how the hell did he not get divorced with this much absenteeism in his son's life considering how dotting Inko is.

Deku has never once mentioned his father and again he talks about his mom a lot but never his father. As for income source. Inko could be from a rich family or have leased/rented land. That All Might merch doesn't come cheap.

Maybe the whole Overseas thing is a cover up because Inko didn't want Izuku to know that his father is a criminal ?

Or maybe I am looking too much into this. Only time will tell.

The guy has scissors because this is that Jordan Peele movie with the clones

Sorry, I just wanted to speak my mind out, JJK is so mid and overrated, and I'm a fan MHA, which isn't really a stellar or magnificent series I have to add

MHA is better than people usually think. It has its flaws, but I've rarely felt disappointed. All For One as a fetus was peak fiction.

I am fascinated by this chapter… I really don’t know what final message Horikoshi wants to leave us with. Deku and Uraraka ending up together is definitely not the main reason for this all. I imagine we’ll have a very poignant conversation next chapter that will effectively set the stage for the final message. Deku and Uraraka were deeply effected by the villains and I can’t wait to see what they choose to do in the future
