My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

I think it's quite ridiculous that Yoichi equated 2nd and 3rd saving him as the same as Deku thinking about saving Shigaraki. Like Yoichi didn't even seem to do anything wrong, he was just AFO's brother that was locked up inside a ******* vault. Shigaraki murdered people in his own volition. NGL Yoichi was reaching really hard just to convince the two to support Deku, as if he had an elasticity quirk lol

The point wasn’t that he and Shigaraki were the same case, it was that reaching out to save someone is something that any of them would do. It’s just a core part of a hero, and Deku has seen Shigaraki needing help. The degree is vastly different, but the principle is the same.

Yoichi notes that it seems delusional, but he’s right in saying it’s no more delusional than wanting to save anyone else. Being in pain the prerequisite for saving someone in Deku’s eyes. [\Spoiler]

Yeah it's almost as if people now have a reason to go full-racist on mutant-type people. I highly doubt "acting suspicious" was the reason.
It was like the way she kept squealing which was heartbreaking I guess. Then Deku went full chad and floated to give her an umbrella

Also likely, as long as its bringing in $$

Also Hori is fairly young too, dude may end pulling an Oda/Kishimoto and writing and drawing for the series until he's like 60+
You already know it. In one form or another, MHA isn't going anywhere. It's far too profitable.

I'm aware. I'm just saying that the comparison Yoichi made is conveniently ignoring a very striking difference between their situations. Saying it's no more delusional than wanting to save anyone else is also wrong IMO, although being that altruistic is noble.
Of course we'll wait for the official translations to see the full context of Yoichi's statement. I can understand that the principle of saving is what made Deku a rightful heir. But the 2nd and 3rd still has a point. Like, a more apt situation is if 2nd and 3rd tried to talk to All For One himself and tried to "save" him.

LASER BLASTING QUIRK, I'M CALLING IT NOW

The second user has, as we can now clearly see from this chapter, support gear that look like laser cannons (see Shockwave from Transformers). I'm calling it now his quirk has something to do with blasting lasers or some kind of long range gun type blast.

My theory that the first chapter cameos were Deku's quirks is coming more and more to fruition, cause that would be a direct Ultraman reference.

Hori has really wrapped up a lot of stuff recently. Within the next 5 chapters we will definitely get a more solid picture of where the story is going.

I like how the lady says "I wonder if things will ever go back to normal" and Deku just replies with "I will make it so", I have never heard Deku be so confident.

Official chapter is out.

I still stand with what I said about Yoichi being ridiculous lol though I get his point.
It's not like the second and third user knew that Yoichi was an innocent person, the only thing they knew is that he was AFO's relative and that he could stab them in the back at any moment. Even still, they decided to save Yoichi because he looked like someone who needed help.

It's the same reasoning as Deku's if you think about it.

Even with that it's still way different. We don't really know how much the 2nd and 3rd knew about Yoichi, but we do know they rescued him when Yoichi was imprisoned. There wasn't much implications that Yoichi is a bad person with the exception of his familial connection with AFO, who happened to be the one who locked him up in the first place.

Meanwhile, everyone in the country is well aware how much death and destruction Shigaraki brought directly and indirectly, under his own free will.

The only similarity between the two situations is the principle of saving someone who needs saving. That's quite a broad category if you think about it anyways.

So I'm thinking the third user might have some type of transformation/burst quirk, given the slight machine theme he has with the pipes on his shoulder. Any other guesses? Because the second having a long range attack quirk seems given.

What is this water jet feat I keep hearing about?
One of the villains citizens attacking the giant fox girl was using a support item that seems to fire pressurized water beams. Deku intercepted it before it hit giant fox girl. In short Deku stopped an attempted murder, basically.

Not yet stated, just that it's definitely not 100%. He may have exceeded 45% or it's his normal operation now, considering he can use the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th quirks.

He's probably at the same level as the war arc. I feel that if he crosses 50% it will definitely be mentioned.

If unlocking quirks means Deku needs to get past a certain treshhold of OFA% then he definitely got an OFA increase.
This is just a speculation unless we get more info though.

You know, every time I think MHA might have some messy scaling or feats, I look around at any other Anime CRT, and just cry at the length of both the thread itself and the posts.

Bleach thread on Yhwach (number 3432) is 11 pages and it was posted Thursday. I don't even need to bring up Naruto threads. Like good god.

Yeah, lol. MHA is pretty consistent compared to stuff like Bleach.

Honestly whenever characters cross planetary even the authors lose a sense of scale, especially when stuff like space, time and infinity get involved.

A lot of the stuff people are arguing over in Bleach could have been easier if the author just explained things clearly on the page.

With MHA so far at least we don't have characters jumping multiple tiers. Even for those who did, they remain consistent after. I honestly never thought Endeavor was that strong before the Hood fight. And although I found his durability dodgy (as he doesn't have a dura or mutant quirk), he remained consistent even against Shigaraki.

Even for Muscular who Hori had Deku one-shot, he made sure to find a way to get rid of his muscle armor first instead of just having Deku's 45% punch somehow do more damage than his previous 100% punches.

Wow, this got long. But anyway, I believe as long as MHA power levels don't get too high or involve stuff like infinite, it will be easy for Hori to stay consistent.

We have it so easy by comparison

Honestly even Jujutsu Revisions are pretty bad
