My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

I would calculate the distance Shiggy's arm crossed in the way of an arc by using the length of his arm and the angle of the movement.

But that might be a bit too complicated if you haven't done it before.

Yes, generally combat speed is faster than movement speed, which is why Iida's calc was given a pass despite using a similar logic.
Yo can u help me w the calc

Measure the full length of Shigaraki's arm and apply this formula.

Assuming that Shigaraki's arm is 0.82 meters to make the formula easier to understand:

Circumference of the arm = 2*pi*0.82 = 5.15 m

Then divide that value by 8.11 to get the distance his arm needs to move to catch Deku and Bakugo.

Where does the 8.11 value come from?

It's for the 45 degree movement his arm seems to have between panels (before Gran Torino saved them Shiggy's arm was in front of him and after he saved them it was 45 degrees to the left).

90 degrees would be the swing of a punch, and in that case you would have to divide the distance by 4.

Edit: Instead of 8.11 you should use just 8.

Nvm I think I found a new way to calculate the distance, Shigaraki’s hand is directly in front of the panel so I could just angsize the distance from it

It's in front of the panel but we don't know how far it actually is from Deku and Bakugo during that sequence.

Gran Torino is downscaling from Shigaraki similar to Endeavor, so if Shigaraki was truly casual then High Hypersonic+ speed would be more than enough to save Deku and Bakugo.

I’ll just wait for the anime episode, they’ll probably portray the distance between Deku and Shigaraki accurately

Present Mic directly states that Shoji and Koda are stronger than “the idiot 3” when they were students

No idea what the “idiot 3” means but I assume it means Deku, Bakugou, and Todoroki?

Low 7-C+ to 7-C Shoji and Koda?

Almost certainly, yes, he's referring to himself and his friends when they were younger.

You know what would be a good idea to upgrade Koda's quirk. If he could control animals alongside those with animalistic inteligence like non High end Nomus and use that to turn the tides of the war (imagine him controlling the USJ Nomu 💀) , though i'm not sure if there are any normal Nomus left. Probably copium considering this is Koda -one of the most forgettable character- we are talking about.

Yeah there's no way Koda is getting anything too OP. At most he might get a cool moment controlling some zoo animals but that's it. If animals with quirks were a common thing, he might have been broken if he had a bunch of them as permanent pets but so far the only ones we have seen is Nezu, the Cat monster in Vigs, and Queen Bee which is Vigs too. All of them are also fairly small.

We have never seen anything like a lion with laser eyes or an elephant with steel skin or shit like that otherwise there would be a pretty OP "beast tamer" class of heroes.

If anyone is interested

@Therefir you wanna see a joke calculation I made of the Faux 100%?

on a serious note, I just wanted to know how well the math is on this. Yes, it’s only three of them, no it wasn’t because it was too hard it’s because I’m lazy
