"Minor" Mihawk > Shanks

I see no point in getting involved in this until we actually see more of Mihawk and Shanks in serious fights, which we're inevitably going to get.

can i get scans stating he is a swordsman, and not just a sword user?
Sure, would appreciate if you provided scans distinguishing a "swordsman" and "sword user"
mihawk > roger ?!?!

"Shanks isn't a swordsman, he can still beat Mihawk" mfs when he has a named blade he uses for every single attack he has, and Mihawk is still out there looking for someone to rival himself.

Shanks is a swordsman, mihawk is a better swordsmen via having better swordsmanship, mihawk's strongest swordsman title is just a title within op verse... They consider him the strongest swordsman but it's not an actual fact, that's the difference

That applies to literally everything.

Actually reply if you are going to reply... It just applies to the titles within op verse like strongest man, strongest pirate, strongest creature and strongest swordsman

These titles aren't facts

It's just as valid as stuff like "Stongest Paramecia," and "Highest Offensive Power"

Aren't there multiple guides and WOG statements about him being the strongest swordsman?

Aren't there multiple guides and WOG statements about him being the strongest swordsman?
Nope there isn't from what I've seen, it's stated he's the best and is an extraordinary master swordsman and stuff

Otherwise they just use that title to refer to him, like:
The "Four Emperors" and the world's strongest swordsman are the strongest rivals in both name and reality
Which are the titles they have within one piece

Off the top of my head, I know his Vivre card states it.
It doesn't
The "World's Greatest Swordsman" who is looking at his prey from the most powerful position in the world!

A rare great swordsman who has distinguished himself since before the time of the great pirates and now reigns as "the best in the world" in both name and reality. Mihawk, who joined the Shichibukai, is a lone pirate without a group, cruising the seas. He spends his days killing time. The "Hawk's Eye", feared by all sword fighters, looks forward to the arrival of a wielder in the future who will surpass the "Red-Haired", with whom he once crossed blades...!

He's actually right though. Shanks is a Hakiman. His Haki is so potent, it has turned into a different type of Haki type called the Advanced Rat Haki. This Haki type is so rare, it only goes to those who are all hype and refuse to take action against anything themselves, resorting to snitching to the authorities making it even more rare than Haoshoku Haki.

The ability of his Haki Type is that It takes physical form and creates a sword of Haki, much better than a black blade. His sword skills? He doesn't have any, they're just illusions created by his highly potent Rat Haki. This confirms that Shanks is not a swordsman but actually a Hakiman. As such, Mihawk < Shanks

Would you mind sending your scan of it? I think we may be thinking of different translations.
We aren't... The one you are referring to is probably the strongest in both name and reality which is a mistranslation
Best can mean a lot of different things, and it can mean both strength and skill. Hell, the can I have for his Vivre card explicitly mentions him being "the strongest".
The whole thing is basically talking about swordsmanship

imo it can go both ways extreme diff🥱
That's how your supposed to view it, it's meant to be unknown on who's stronger between shanks and mihawk... Until we actually get to see their past duels/possible upcoming duel or anything similar then it's meant to be unknown
Men who rose to the age of the great pirates! The strongest fated rivals!
Shanks X Mihawk

They have fought many duels, and sometimes they get along well (?). The way they drink together reminds me of the old Roger and Whitebeard. The "Four Emperors" and the world's strongest swordsman are the strongest rivals in both name and reality. They also share the same birthday, March 9. I can't wait for the day when the past will be revealed why Shanks and Mihawk came to fight...!

◀Mihawk may have more complicated feelings about Shanks becoming a one-armed man than anyone else.

▲Now that the "Shichibukai" system has been abolished, will there ever be a day when the two fight again...?

◀▲The best thing about these two is that they are both the target of Luffy and Zoro...!

And... why exactly do you think he's looking for someone who surpasses Shanks?

To end his boredom... And that's talking about swordsmanship not strength, otherwise he could've went after big mom or kaido if it's about that

It's not hard to understand the translation and what it's trying to say...

How exactly do you think he'd enjoy fighting someone stronger than Shanks if that doesn't mean they're a challenge to him/comparable
East blue zoro.

Ok... First of all, that's referencing old shanks... When they dueled and then it has nothing to do with strength but swordsmanship as that's what the whole text is talking about

I can do the same shit as well with shanks and do these wierd ass bs in trying to find ways to scale higher than the other
