Can Mewtwo Mega Evolve into it's X version on it's own?

It was evident in the anime that it's could Mega Evolve into Y on it's own. Though the anime is inconsistent with the game mechanics of requiring a trainer; Mega Stone and Key stone in order to Mega Evolve.

So could evidence from the anime be used to argue that as Mewtwo can Mega Evolve into it's XY version without requiring a trainer, that he can also Mega Evolve into Mega Mewtwo X without all those requirements? My guess is that as Mewtwo's basically a humanoid Pokemon, he doesn't necessarily need a trainer. And as he's genetically engineered to be the pinnacle of human science, maybe he doesn't require a stone either. But these are just educated guesses.

Or is that extrapolating too much? Thank you for answering.

Also, iirc PokéSpe Mewtwo is part human, so there's an excuse.

My thoughts precisely. Since Mewtwo is humanoid he basically ignores the general rule of Mega Evolution.
