MCU Phase 5 General Discussion Thread

Technically, Aspirants are Dark Celestials. In Marvel Comics lore, they appeased only to a supreme being named 'The First Firmament' for universal growth, however, the normal Celestials wanted the universe's life cycle to grow on it's own. Eventually, the First Firmament was shattered into multiple pieces to form the "Multiverse" (Paging @darkphantom9805 for how this can translate into the MCU)

So what we know is that these three exist (for whatever reason) in the MCU and don't seem to be hostile with The Watcher. However, in the first What If S3 trailer, we overhear 3 New Watchers saying (even to our Watcher): "This is where your story ends."

My prediction is that the Dark Celestials in this universe either got framed or want peace, and The Watcher does something to 'intervene' (these guys are legit stronger than Infinity Gauntlet Thanos in the comics) and this causes the other Watchers to step in.

More Hax Abilities:
The Watcher

  • The Watcher should qualify for Illusion Creation (Created a holographic display of the worlds attacked by Ultron.)
  • The Watcher should also qualify for Matter Manipulation-Molecular Manipulation (created a golden armor for himself.)
  • The Watcher should also get Time Travel (Viewed Strange Supreme using the Time Stone to go back in time to absorb dimensional beings.)
  • The Watcher should get Teleportation (teleported the Guardians of the Multiverse to the Bar.)
  • The Watcher should get Limited Regeneration (Regenerated from his injuries after fighting Ultron.)
Infinity Gauntlet

Dormammu/Zealots
  • Dormammu, the Zealots and the Ancient One should qualify for resistance to Extreme Cold (The Ancient One, who drew power from the Dark Dimension, was unfazed by the freezing temperature atop Mount Everest.)
  • Dormammu should qualify for Ice Manipulation, Electricty Manipulation, Sound Manipulation and Barrier Generation (This relic comes from the Dark Dimension and it's powers were increased from the Dimension's power.)
  • Dormammu and the Zealots should qualify for resistance to Gravity Manipulation (Dark Dimension magic allowed the Zealots to run on walls and defy gravity by actually making their punches cause victims to fly into the air.)
  • Dormammu should qualify for Summoning (Strange Supreme, using Dark Dimension magic, was able to conjure beings from other dimensions)
  • Dormammu should qualify for Matter Manipulation-Molecular Manipulation (Eli Morrow's ability to manipulate and create compounds like water comes from channeled Dark Dimension energy.)
  • Dormammu and the Zealots should qualify for Durability Negation (Space Shards were capable of piercing and giving cardiac tamponade/blood build-up to Strange, however, the shard did no damage to his clothes.)
Doctor Strange and Mystic Arts Users
  • Should be granted Dimensional Awareness instead of Extrasensory Perception (Masters of the Mystic Arts could sense the Ten Rings being used in Ta-Lo; a pocket dimension outside the universe. Aggamoto, the first Sorcerer, could sense Dormammu's presence.)
  • Doctor Strange used golden lightning in Infinity War, which should qualify for Electricity Manipulation.

"How was Stormbreaker able to slice through a fully equipped Infinity Gauntlet?"
-Answered by the two screenwriters of Infinity War; Stephen Mcfeely and Christopher Markus
Interviewee: Is Stormbreaker more powerful than the Full Infinity Gauntlet?
Markus: Well... he slices through the power of the Infinity Gauntlet. I would imagine it might have something to do with the fact the same guy made both of them.
Interviewee: Was this debated, like this kind like of power of each thing?
Markus: I don't recall that actual debate, because... I think this actually cutting through the beam came relatively late in the process. But uh, it's uh Dwarven...magic?
Stephen: Yeah, Eitri can make what he likes for whomever he likes, and you know, why is there a 3x3 hole in the Death Star?
Interviewee: Wait, you're trying to say that things need to push the plot forward.
Stephen: No, I just say that I think eventually they figured out that 'Eitri' designed a little flaw in it so that it can-- (makes a gesture in reference to Stormbreaker cutting through the beam.)
  • The screenwriters attribute Stormbreaker to having resistance to the Infinity Gauntlet/Infinity Stones which is why it resisted the beam. To be honest, these were the guys who wrote the script, so they have just as much of WOG (Word-of-God) legitimacy as the director.
Anyways, there's a statement about the Gauntlet from elsewhere:

The Infinity Stones are ancient and have been known to many across the galaxy. Few who remain know their true power. The immensely potent objects can be deadly to mortals who touch them, but that hasn't stopped those of a villainous nature from making frequent attempts to exploit their colossal energies. Thanos has been attempting to gather Stones together in the Infinity Gauntlet, a golden glove capable of channeling the energy into an even greater destructive force.
  • This states that the Infinity Gauntlet can amplify the stone's power into a greater force.

Are these new celestials the watcher is hanging out with ?

I wonder if this implies celestials are watcher tier maybe many people are watcher tier and we didn’t know
Tbf Watchers and Celestials are roughly on the same tier of power and authority in the comics, being depicted as vaguely above Skyfathers/Hellords but their place in the cosmic hierarchy does heavily depend on the writer and it doesn't help they're usually shown to be somewhat comparable to Galactus whose powers canonically fluctuate drastically from being as weak as a mid tier Heralds to being as strong Multiversal abstracts and everything in-between.

So yeah...

I'm going to create sandboxes for He Who Remains, the Temporal Loom and the TVA.

If any of y'all have any suggestions, I'm all ears.

I just got back from seeing the Kraven the Hunter movie.

Kraven should at least have Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Weapon Mastery, Enhanced Senses, Animal Manipulation, and Martial Arts. With weaponry he should also have Poison Manipulation. He seems to be 9-B physically, as he cracks bulletproof glass with his punches, causes an SUV to spin out by ramming into it, and holds his own against a jaguar without going all out. He also takes hits from Rhino and knocks him down with a jump kick. He fails to do any real damage without attacking a weak point however.

Rhino is able to stop a cargo truck (it might be a MAN HX60?) in its tracks and flip it over, later throwing it while fighting Kraven.

Kraven should have at least Superhuman speed based on his feats throughout the movie, though he also gets described as being faster than a cheetah, which could get him to Subsonic. He evades a decent amount of gunfire, though a lot of it might be aim dodging. He does react to an RPG and jump out of the way of it just before it can hit him. For LS feats, he bends a metal grate and holds down a helicopter for a little while. He gets physically overpowered by Rhino multiple times though.

Also of note is The Foreigner, who has hypnotic abilities and is able to harm Kraven after weakening him with poison.

Calypso doesn't really get combat feats beyond briefly using a crossbow.

They would never do that to such a powerful character or no
They already did though. Pretty much all of his Variants except the one from the T'Challa episode and Multiverse of Madness have been killed, captured or shown to be controlled or whatever just to promote the new threat/plot/character

Different writers just look at the gif this thanos is ready for combat bro beams down ready to tangle

Which one of those does dormammu and zeus appear in
Howard the duck one, pretty sure
Likely could be the Emergence one too. Do remember that Earth's three sanctums are the only reason why Dormammu is being kept from absorbing the Earth's universe (because of Aggamotto putting up the dimensional shields.) It'd be cool to see how The Celestials deal with Dormammu (if that's what actually happens.)

I hope Zeus gets some feats he looked pretty underwhelming in L&T maya’s he could get some cool feats especially since he’s one of the strongest gods

This, I REALLY want to make a profile for a prime version of Zeus so I hope he has some nice stuff to show, both in terms of feats and abilities

Celestials vs Dormammu would just be an awesome concept. Imagine if the episode is about the Celestials ordering the Eternals to find a way to stop him only to fail and at the last moment Arishem appears and fights Dorm himself

I haven't been active here in a while but I've been meaning to make this CRT for nearly a year so here it is just in time for the holidays:
