If I understood correctly, GEoM erased Horus to a point that the Chaos Gods couldnt bring him back. Okay, this means the CG could bring him back.

Isnt this Type 8 Immortality? Reaurrection? High-godly regen?

It means that if it werent for the super broken erasure, if say, Horus died by other means, the CG would be able to bring Horus back. If they werent able to do that, the Emprah's feat would be null since they couldnt from the very beginning.

Chaos horus already has type 4 immortaliry, which covers the chaos good ressurection. They're kinda inconsistent with rezzing their champions though.

Wasn't there always ambiguity around it though? Some say the chaos gods couldn't bring him back, others say they just kinda ****** off for reasons only known to them, some say it wouldn't work if Sanguinius didn't dent the armor, etc.

It totally depends.

The Talon of Horus suggests they both simultaneously wanted him to kick the crap out of the Emperor and that he was the perfect choice at the time for Warmaster, but that they may or may not have told him to go **** himself when the Emperor was about to kill him.

They're kinda fickle like that.
