Just a slight change.

The First Strike book describes a terminal velocity for Spartans II at a gravity of 1.08G.

That would risk nitrogen embolisms for his Spartans, but they were coming in at terminal velocity, which for a fully loaded Spartan was—he quickly calculated—130 meters per second. They had to overpressurize the cushioning gel or their organs would be crushed against the impervious MJOLNIR armor when they hit.
This should slightly change the values of this blog.

Calculation of the fall of the Spartans in the novel First Strike.
E=0.5*451.3kg*(130ms^-1)^2
E=3.813e6J [9-B] (x2.5 Fall on African Plains)

Pretty sure First Strike consistent of landing on a different planet. The 1.08 G's was Reach's gravity and the mentions above were describing atmosphere of Reach.

Though, I did find some pirated text somewhere on Google Docs with that specific statement. A lot of Spartans were apparently killed by the same fall, and Fred survived simply because he landed in the trees but he was still severely injured. But I don't mind adding this to the list of feats on the blog.
