LEGO Video Game Adaptations General Discussion Thread

alright, maybe "at most small building"? since they are still SOMEWHAT a threat and could just downscale
Maybe. I really want the goons to get a page because they're iconic, perhaps you could scale them to street level or unknown physically and at most Small Building level with guns since characters more comparable to Batman like Penguin, Joker, Two Face, and maybe Mad Hatter use guns to harm Batman and goons should be supplied with weapons capable of damaging Batman as well

Question

How do Lego heights work? Would Yoda get small size? Lego games have those vent things that only small characters can fit through and the Lego Game wiki says the ability is called "Shortie".
We just assume LEGO characters are the height of a normal person unless they're taller or shorter than an average minifigure. Yoda could have Small Size type 0, I think

just quick question, where would riddler goon scale? I want to make a page for him

I'd wait until we get more calcs and revisions out before making him a page. But even then, don't expect the goons to rank anywhere high. They don't scale to Batman, Robin, or the other villains

Weird example, but would a child IRL be given Small Size if they got a page? No, so neither should LEGO Yoda

Not at all

We don't use Freeplay for scaling. I literally covered this in the revision thread that started this entire thread

To play things safe, here is my proposal. The question of if a feat is applicable should be determined by story mode and the cutscenes. Whether this be a feat that happens in a level or a character scales to somebody through fighting/harming them, we look at what characters are capable of doing this. Just because you can bring a Riddler Grunt into Free Play and use him to beat up Killer Croc doesn't mean the grunt scales to Croc. Batman and Robin, who actually fought him, are a different story.

If you think this is bs, consider how these games do actually have proper scaling and portrayals of characters being vastly above others. Imagine if you went into Freeplay and had a Stormtrooper beat up Darth Vader. Would you call that reliable? The answer's no. Story Mode can only be used for scaling. Freeplay's a MASSIVE no for scaling to the entire cast

Second of all, no, they don't pose "somewhat" of a threat. Batman and Robin can one-shot and two-shot them, and they're treated like absolute fodder in the games. Why would we even say the goons are "At most 9-A" when actual 9-A characters like Batman and Robin INSTANTLY take them out with a single punch?

We all love the Riddler Goons, Penguin Goons, and Joker Goons, but let's not glaze them when we know for a fact they don't scale at all to the 9-A cast

Rn? The Riddler Goons would be Street level at best

There might be a basis for LEGO Clones being superior to LEGO Stormtroopers, hear me out

There's some character bios from the LEGO Star Wars Official Strategy Guides that I'd like to bring up. I'll make imgur posts for them later, but I'm pretty busy atm

Jango Fett bio
Jango Fett is one of the most fearsome bounty hunters in the galaxy. He is so impressive, a whole clone army was modeled after him. Jango Fett doesn't mess around when it comes to protecting himself and taking down anyone he has to. He carries a blaster in each hand to get in even more firepower. He has a rocket pack on his back so he can hover off the ground as long as he wants. Will little Boba Fett grow up to be as good as his papa?

Boba Fett bio
Boba Fett is one of the most popular and most feared bounty hunters in all the galaxy. And why shouldn't he be? He is an exact clone of his father, Jango Fett, who also was a merciless bounty hunter. Like all bounty hunters, Boba Fett can get into areas only accessible by other bounty hunters. He also carries thermal detonators, which are the only weapons that can destroy the shiny metal LEGOs found around the galaxy. The things that set Boba Fett apart from the other bounty hunters are his more-powerful gun and his ability to fly. In a lot of cases, he can get to locations that only he and R2-D2 can reach.

Clone bio
If you've seen one clone, you've seen them all. Whether this guy is fighting for good or evil, he is a force to be reckoned with. He carries a powerful blaster that he can use to shoot enemies or targets on the walls. He also carries an ascension gun to access those hard to-reach places.

Clone (Episode III, Swamp) bio
You'll first find this clone in the swamps of Episode III. Not too much different from the other clones, this guy carries a blaster to destroy his enemies. He also has an ascension gun to grapple to hard to-reach areas. This clone will serve you well wherever you travel.

Clone (Episode III, Walker) bio
You'll find this clone piloting one of the crafts around the galaxy. His armor might look slightly different from the others, but he can be just as dangerous — especially when piloting something. On the ground, this clone can fire a blaster and use his ascension gun to grapple to hard-to-reach areas.

Disguised Clone bio
What do clones wear when they are out of rank and just trying to fit in? Why brown, hooded cloaks of course. They might not wear the same cool armor, but they act just like any other clone. They shoot their targets with deadly blasts and use ascension guns when there is a grappling hook nearby.

Commander Cody bio
Those clones are all alike and have only slight physical differences. Whether fighting for good or evil, he is a force to be reckoned with. He carries a powerful blaster with which he shoots enemies or targets on the walls. He also carries an ascension to-reach places.

The consensus is that in the LEGO Star Wars verse, while skillsets for clones of Jango Fett may slightly vary (drastically in Boba's case given his upbringing and legacy), their physicalities are pretty much equal. Why does this matter? Well, the Boba Fett boss fight on Bespin has you go up against Boba. Some Stormtroopers attack you, but obviously (like in all levels with Stormtroopers) you wash them easily while Boba is an actual challenge who can box up with you and take more than one hit from you without much trouble

Unsurprisingly, Boba would easily be superior to Stormtroopers, and hence, the Clones should too. If this was Legends or Disney, this discussion would probably be different, but the LEGO verse is operating off of different scaling and slightly different lore, so this should be fine

Additionally, I wanna emphasize two other bios

Clone (Episode III) bio
There sure are a lot of these clones fighting for the Empire. They carry dangerous blasters and they rarely travel alone, making them a dangerous threat if you fight against them. But they can be very useful when you need to blast something.

Stormtrooper bio
The stormtrooper is the trusted foot soldier of the Imperial forces. Stormtroopers always seem to be the first into battle and the first to drop dead. Yet these nameless and faceless soldiers fight on because of their belief in, or fear of, in the Empire and the Emperor. Guided by their higher-ups, they enforce fear among local populations using any means necessary, which is one reason they carry blaster rifles. Their ascension guns help them get to many otherwise inaccessible places.

Obviously the Boba boss battle is stronger evidence for Clones > Stormtroopers, but I think it's interesting how when mentioning those who serve the Empire, Clones are described as dangerous threats while Stormtroopers are posed as cannon fodder

Oh, yeah. Given TCS and TCW show us that different Battle Droids can fight and kill Clones, there's some scaling there for Jedi even before the Clone army was implemented into the war

Also, the bios do mention certain Jedi characters growing stronger compared to their previous selves, meaning there's still powercreep for Star Wars, even in LEGO form

Also, do we have any timeline/canon for the lego games? like are we including dimensions as canon to the lego batman games?

also something I like how about killer moth, he fights batman because he wants to fight batman. there is no further reason he just doesn't like batman

@That_moron2 Last night I was thinking a lot about the LEGO Star Wars scaling chain. I should be able to make an outline of it so then the scaling values for the characters can be covered for future pages and revisions
