From what I know, Lavos is hard to put down. And by hard, I mean VERY hard. So I was wondering if he'd get the possibly High 2-A stat from the Chrono Cross. It was needed to finally vanquish him for real, and even then, he had to free Schala from TD's grasp and merge dimensions on the parasite.

I mean, I don't think we can scale to an attack that kills him. It's like saying a character is High 4-C because a supernova was needed to kill him.

The difference here is that the Chrono Cross was needed for the party to fight on Time Devourer's level, and even then a long bout ensued. If it would be any help, here is a strategy guide. I'm about to play Chrono Cross and have been avoiding spoilers, but I infer that everything Cal has claimed is true. I'm wondering about how we should scale some of the cast, myself; hopefully I can help resolve the matter after I've beaten the game.

EDIT: Also, I am starting to consider the possibility of Dream Devourer being vanilla 2-A, but I need a little time. Perhaps it would be best to postpone this discussion until I publish my findings?

Quick question: I thought that Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger were completely separate continuities?

If not, it would be appreciated if you can expand a bit more on your reasoning for Lavos' High 2-A stats, as an explanation for why he is rated that way (cutscene, explanation) would be beneficial. It's just to clarify things up really.

Or that Zamasu is Zen'ō level cause Zen'ō was needed to defeat him.

@Lina

The continuities are the same, but the universes in which events play out are different.

Cal, if it's all the same to you, I would prefer this discussion be postponed. I'm about to upload a slew of screenshots from CT DS, anyway, and I think it would be best to prepare a while longer and provide conveniently viewable evidence before starting any revision threads.

Not played the game yet ;-; wait for me to downplay first Cal. Kappa.

All joking aside yeah screenshots would be lovely. I can make a redo of Shining one vs Lavos : D

But in the meantime nadah.

@Matt

The current justification for the Chrono Cross (the McGuffin, not the game) being 5-D is that it elevated the space-time continuums of the infinite Chrono series multiverse to a higher plane. Cal holds that Time Devourer should scale to the Chrono Cross for resisting and battling its power before succumbing. I'm not exactly sure if all of this is true and would prefer to get some justifications for preexisting statistics before making any upgrades.

I finished Chrono Trigger DS recently, am playing through Radical Dreamers, and have Chrono Cross to play soon; furthermore, I have the means to take screenshots of all these and have been doing so. Would it be fine to postpone this discussion until I have decisive evidence that all can view?

Higher Plane =/= Higher Dimension. The context of that is completely different. The game ends with a total 4th wall break if I remember. That higher plane is our world.

And even if it is, that's not proof of 5D.

I wasn't saying the parasite should scale because the CC was needed to kill him. I was saying that because it alone wasn't enough.

Ok, if that's the case, it seems I should get to playing Chrono Cross ASAP. Let's keep all the profiles the same until I bring my findings to light.

Right now, it's time for me to upload screenshots...
