I’m trying to say that since Luffy can resist the effects of Ren long enough to escape it, he wouldn’t be killed by it. Besides, he can fight long range and stay out of the reach of Ren.

It doesn't actually really matter what you think, I also believe zoro can resist it but IN TERMS OF VSBW HE CAN'T.
