If Glitches Were Canon to VS Battles Wiki

I saw that last one before. Majora's Mask is news to me, though. If I understand it correctly, it can do one thing based on the save name, so it's optional for him to be able to do it. Then again, he can mess with your camera, so Breaking the Fourth Wall clearly isn't unprecedented.

I'm reminded that Mario 64 isn't the only one with crazy glitches. (Although, between cloning, HOLP manipulation & other stuff, it's probably underdetailed beyond what Yellowpig linked almost 2 years ago.)

To start with a thing from TTYD, put simply, TTYD Mario has an infinite height jump glitch, but its only useable in specific circumstances. Mostly, you need to set event flags involving a jump, then get to a positive Y velocity. Sadly, the set-up is tedious & it's only one infinite height jump per setup, but at least it transfers between files. (And saves time.)

TTYD Mario also has a very complicated set-up involving partners, the goal of which is basically getting Yoshi below the floor & using that to clip below it into a loading zone, skipping a lot of the Palace of Shadow.

Perhaps most absurdly, though, is Flavio. In TTYD's story, he's a cowardly & conceited man. At one point, he ends up following Mario. In past routes, it was around this same time that speedrunners got what they needed from the chapter, & sequence broke to leave & move further in the game.

The result is Flavio follows the rest of the game, until or unless the rather specific conditions to have him leave are met.

For example, if you bring Flavio to the Shadow Queen cutscene, he won't be in the battle, but, despite having followed Mario to the end of the deep underground Palace of Shadow, he WILL go to every location the cutscenes show!

(But unlike everyone else, follower Flavio doesn't speak, so he has no wishes to send through the Crystal Stars to Mario.)

And it's not just Mario. He follows Bowser & Kammy during the intermissions. He follows Peach. He stands by the bathtub if Peach takes a shower in the X-Naut Fortress.

Flavio, when not following the player character, will spawn at the center of the room. This includes cutscenes that show the moon, leaving him just standing there in space. Other followers, like the Egg & Frankly can do similar.

Funnily enough, since non-partner followers spawn in the center of a room, this means things like them spawning over the water of Rogueport Harbor (& then falling in.) can happen.

Did you know that all water in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door has a vicious fish called Nibbles that bites anyone who goes in, sending them flying out in pain?

Amusingly, if, like the TAS does, you skip when Frankly is supposed to leave Mario & Goombella & bring him to your first time at Petalburg, since he spawns in at the center of any room he's brought to that he wasn't intended for, Frankly will appear at the center of Petalburg. You'll be able to see this during the overhead camera pan, just before a Koopa comes to greet Mario, where Frankly can be seen sprinting west across Petalburg to get to Mario's side...

...And without any pathfinding to tell him to cross the bridge, Professor Frankly, trying to get to Mario ASAP, runs off the shore, falls into Petalburg's river & gets bitten by Nibbles. XD

(And then walks in behind Mario because Frankly spawned for the cutscene, but he's still following Mario.)
