I am Groot!! ... Are you a Pokémon?

Groot has much better lifting strength, can use the majority of limbs in order to regrow+Strike in his nose+Wrap him in tree branches

According to their profiles Groot only has regular human lifting while Gary is athletic Human. Not that it makes a big diff.

Sunkern: 1

Gary: 1

Incon: 0

Considering he literally lifted a human off the ground and tossed him that needs fixing

Cal knows what I'm talking about

Groot was severely bloodlusted in that instance, and Baby Groot in particular has shown an adversion to immediate violence.

Throughout all movies where Groot is a character, he only attacks after being provoked, and in his Baby Groot form, he is guilible and thinks the best of everyone and anyone. Gary would therefor have the first attack, which would give him a major advantage.

It wouldn't be a major advantage as Groot isn't an idiot and can defend himself. Especially since he can grow spikes on his body and has regen

Groot may not be.

Baby Groot is. This fight depends on whether Gary can take the baybo Groot down before he gets serious.

Considering he still has the Durability to take a single strike and Gary isn't strong enough to one shot, He gets serious before that

Gary, he's consistently been able to land a hit on and catch pokemon with pokeballs when even the baby evolutions are massively hypersonic+ to his peak human in reaction speed. This won't be hard at all.

Dude, the speed diff is just an inconsistency in pokemon. Everyone can fight everyone in anime/manga but are not scaled because of that.

he's still good at throwing the balls at small things that have comparable speeds to him then which would fit for Groot as well along with this match being speed equal

Usually you need to weaken a pokemon to catch it. So he needs to hit Groot.

And Groot is quite adapt at hitting things that come flying at him. At which point, Gary is in significant trouble

^This

Groot is a good catcher and can intercept the ball if necessary

And Gary still needs to defeat him before getting serious or he gets punted

No, it just makes it easier and that depends on the ball. If Gary uses a Master or Quick ball, the battle ends right there.
I seriously doubt Gary is using a Master Ball casually. Also idk if he owns one.

Why would it be casual? Didn't he complete the pokedex? A new Pokemon would be extremely important to catch and might even be a legendary.
