Probably not, without proper prtection (hamon for example) or some sort of resistance, most organic things get consumed on contact with Whammu, see Mark.

I think homer takes this by quick fireing at Wamuu and taking him out note that Homer's guns are building level and would peirce through Wamuu

So? Whamm can survive being blown to bits and then heal that off casually, and can morph his body in impossible ways to avoid it. All he needs to do is touch homer once.

Even if he could, Wammuu has Wind Mode which makes him almost invisible and protects him from the sun for just enough time to hide in a shadow.
