God of War: Ragnarok Discussion Thread

So wasn't Uranus the winner of the war?
Yes but there was no exact hierarchy of who the actual top-dog was because of their even-ness, hence the reason the war even happened to begin with.

In terms of scaling outright tho, Gaia would be the strongest Primordial, seeing as she downscales from the likes of Poseidon and was still able to do some damage to him albeit at the cost of getting shredded herself.

It stands to reason that the Primordials, Titans and Olympians are around the same level of power as each other, as they all fought against and killed each other, though the next generation stood to won more often than not, because of the Cycle of Patricide.

Eventually however, Kratos, a mere mortal demigod turned God outright, overpowered and killed all of them.

How do Thor and odin scale ij comparasion to other greek gods like hermes and zeus in speed here? I only know about ap

He is right that God of War: Ragnarok had its pacing and plot progression massively suffer by essentially being two games forced together. Assuming that's the video I'm thinking of.

In an ideal world, the game would've ended with the last boss being Heimdall and the last scene being Brok's death. The next game would've been focused on Ragnarok itself and a lot of the side quests and bloated plot points would've been moved there to give the story some room to breathe.

There some other minor issues (the VFX and smoothness of the weapon animations suffering a bit, Kratos's voice not being as good (granted Judge wasn't at peak health), the lack of fist combat) but the above was the most egregious.

I wish there are scene about freya destroying or disconnecting vallhala which has 70+ doors or something like that in real norse myth ?

I don't if people watched this dude;s vid but I think he makes some good points.

He ain't no synthetic man and he's spitting on a few of the points I've always believed. Especially how prophecy is 100% something that is real in 2018 Norse world with giants seeing the future but in Ragnarok, prophecy and fate isn't real and the Norns don't see the future, just predict events based on actions but the same time the giants hid real prophecies inside the shrine dimension, just like the guy said "what is the point?"

The only answer I could see is that giants made murals to warn of potential outcomes of the future that Atreus and Kratos should avoid, while the murals Mimir gives an exposition on + took place in Norse history are factual...I guess but at in of the day there is no in-game explanation that is hinted at or anything so it's just headcanon.

Well even so i really dislike the way he titled it, which is i assume just for the sake of clickbait

Just go with something believable instead of "oH tHiS gAmE FranChiSe Is dOomEd"

Lazerzz is one of the few reliable game reviewers out there who is usually honest about the stuff he says, hell, he literally exposed the current AC RPG trilogy for the utter travesty it is.

I know that he's reliable but i just don't appreciate the way he titled the video above which is sound "clickbaity" lel, i manage to watched it after a while because i got threw off by that title

Lol. I never red that entire imgur post. I am shocked about the fact that he tried using shovel knight and all stars battle to downgrade Kratos lmao.
And the fact that he had to take stuff out of context such as most of the anti feats in gow 2 are done by a power nulled kratos.

According to what's in your profile, doesn't it suggest type 8 immortality? The sisters of destiny

In God Of War 2, it doesn't matter how many times you kill them, they still keep coming back and Kratos' ability to deny immortality is not working on they, just from breaking the mirrors of fate we can actually kill them

Not exactly. It just means they control their domains completely and can become stronger as a result of it.

Thought ae type 2 is supposed to be that You need to be able to kill the abstraction to kill the dude with type 2 which is a similar to type 8

Eh not exactly, the page states that people can still be affected without affecting the Abstract itself. Plus, when you kill the Gods, the domains they represent go completely haywire.

You don't necessarily need to embody a concept either.

Oh i agree that's not the case in gow but going by how ae type 2 was defines i was saying seems like by our page standards it would be type 8 but

Also thought affect part refers to interaction

Case-by-case basis.

Also thought affect part refers to interaction
Nah, interaction's got nothing to do here with this. It's more so sustenance and control just by existing and representing it. They don't have to interact with it at all to embody it.
