God of War: Ragnarok Discussion Thread

Got a question. Should Odin get some resistance to space-time manipulation? He explicitly said that Asgard was the only realm that would be safe from the effects of Garm's reality-tearing powers, and wouldn't that only be possible if Odin place some sort of defense around Asgard? Given the reaction of Freya, it's implied that even with her Vanir or Seidr magic, she wouldn't be able to stop Garm from chewing through the fabric of the realms. Thoughts on this?

With the way you worded it, it doesn't sound like resistance, but more-so some special ability Odin has that makes space-time manip not effevtive. But I guess it's fine.

Just curious, when exactly does Freya actually use Bifrost powers?

Also, since the Redeemed Warrior can use the Spear of Hyperion, which can hold the weight of the cosmos, shouldn't their lifting strength with the spear be either multi-stellar or universal (depending on how you interpret "cosmos")?

This is neat, and supported by someone calcing that Olympus was over 14000 km tall on DA (you need to scroll down a bit)

All we know is that he made Asgard safe, which isn't resistance for himself. It's probably via the same power that allows him to seal entire realms.

She can create Bifrost energy slashes with one of her swords and was the leader of the Valkyries to boot. Not to mention that she likely learnt from both Odin and her brother Freyr, whom researched the Bifrost.

It can hold that weight but it doesn't mean it's that heavy itself.

Makes sense.

Eh, questionable.

But it can hold up that weight, so whoever wields it can use it to do so.

If you could prove that then I wouldn't mind tbh. Would kill Tier 6 Kratos though.
You say that like it's a bad thing.

The spear can hold that weight but it's not clarified if it extended to its wielders.

Don't think there's anything that proves it TBF.

No, that's not how this works.
Why not? Aside for a things like Eyes of Truth most of his resistances are mostly based on his demigod physiology, and the Gods should be similar in that way.

Like i'm pretty sure Zeus, Hades, Poseidon and Ares are more than capable to resist Amulet of Ouroboros and Siren's songs like Kratos.

You'd have a better argument with Olympians only since Kratos doesn't have a speck of Aesir/Vanir in his body.

Even then, the bulk of his resistances come from either his reactive evolution which is completely unique to him, or are just plain not applicable to most of the gods based on showcases, so there's no reason for them to scale.

The argument of the Brother Kings is based on incredulity for the most part.

That's not how we grant resistances at all just because of Demigod physiology. Every God and demigod is unique. They have very few things in common aside from their enhanced senses and whatnot, everything else they need to showcase feats for themselves.

So apparently those wolves that chase the sun and moon defeated a post-GoW3 Kratos and dragged him to the Norse realm, if that's worth anything scaling-wise.

Er, assuming that's them, it's probably 2-C but like, we have no clue what state Kratos was in at the time. He just lost his magic and godhead completely and might've yet to have regrown to the level of a god innately.
