God of War: Ragnarok Discussion Thread

that's like 80% of the antifeats GOW downplayers parade with
Most of them are from the GoW1 Novel, which completely fall apart once you immediately read the next paragraph or shift straight to Pandora's Temple, where everything is magical and is made of metals of higher strength and durability than the Blades of Chaos.

Where is that stated in the novel?

Beyond Odin level Intelligence

on screen visuals backed by the authors = fairy tales
For real, primordials literally physically appear in the games as bosses on multiple occassions. How anyone can consider them a fairy tale is beyond me.

I swear if Kratos on screen destroyed multiple universes in a most direct and obvious way possible people would still find an excuse that it's only continental level or some shit like that. Kratos just can't catch a break.

Oh where was that stated?
I might be misremembering but
There's no statements (Not that they need one here), but Castor and Pollux very liberally used the amulet to play around with Kratos instead of using it to its fullest potential until shit hit the fan. They also showed no limits to their time-based abilities at any point in the series.

Would some of the stronger beast like The Hydra, Kraken, Pandora's Guardian ect... scale to 4-A?
Hydra? Maybe, but the wank in the novels for Kratos like him worrying about being sent to Hades by the beast but it cracking its teeth on Kratos's chains, it being unable to harm Kratos by ramming him through a mast (Mast breaks first, Kratos doesn't flinch), and statements like how nothing on Earth could crush a properly-braced Kratos kinda makes the Hydra look like a small snake in comparison. Hydra is stated in the novel to span a giant sea strait, so there's that supporting it for Tier 7 and whatnot.

Kraken? No, Kratos at that point is already 2-C.

Pandora's Guardian? Most likely, everything in Pandora's Temple is magical and made of higher-quality metals than the BoC.

Demigods are a given, not much to go around here.

Other fodder beasts are a no-no tho.

Pandora's Guardian is weird cause it's canonically above the Blade of Artemis.

And Kratos getting injured somewhat by the Hydra should allow it backscale I think.

So is there gonna be a CRT for the Norse gods, like extra abilities that'll be added? Is there a novel for Ragnarok that would give the Norse pantheon some new abilities or resistances or not?

No novel for Ragnarok yet unfortunately.

But yeah, new CRT will look into updating Norse stuff for the Norse Gods, mainly involving Seidr, Bifrost, Vanir Magic, Dwarven Magic and Light of Alfheim Magic. We're sorely lacking profiles for weapons on both sides but I am trying to look for pictures that have recently released showing full shots of each character and their weapons.

I don't understand why there are people still believes GoW verse is set on modern earth. ???? it does not make any sense at all

I also don't understand why they think GoW Earth to be the same size as ours, only the layout is the same, but otherwise it's what you call the "Greater universe" as Cory himself calls it, where all mythologies coexist with their own creation stories. Otherwise they'd come into conflict with each other over their creation of the cosmos.

You'd end up asking questions like "Why didn't Uranus fight Ymir" or "Why didn't the Olympians dominate the Persians and Egyptians and other Meditteranean cultures" and so on and so forth.

?

Kratos can beat Marvel Comics Zeus (3-C), Godzilla Zeus, RoR Zeus, Riordan Zeus, GoHS Zeus, DCEU Zeus, DC Zeus (Unknown, likely 3-A), Supernatural Zeus, Injustice Zeus, Apotheon Zeus, Disney Zeus, SMITE Zeus, Monster Strike Zeus, D&D Zeus (5-B)

I mean, he's also like the strongest of all the Zeus profiles
Yes but I only consider kratos truly powerful when he will be able to destroy all versions of Zeus.

although if I had higher standards, I would only consider him truly powerful if he could kill all divine beings from all fictions
