Gilgamesh VS Darquesse

if it was so easy to do something like that, she could have made it so that Valkyrie would be unable to use the scepter or for Mevolent to move his hands, or something to that effect.

couldnt, didnt.

if you are going to flat out ignore limitations on her ability to think and use magic while in the middle of heated battle that are perfectly showcased in the story, then there is nothing more to add to this thread

and not a single one of you has even managed to reply on how she would deal with such a high barrage of attacks. not to mention the god-killers dont have anything special to them (except perhaps the scepter) besides being mentioned to be able to negate her Regenerationn and be really sharp (and i guess, kill gods. for some reason that didnt seem to apply as strongly to mortal opponents). you want to know how many random NPs fit the descriptions of "being really sharp" and "negating Regenerationn"?

so, on speed equalization, i have no reason to believe in the story that Mevolent was actually faster than Darquesse, only that he kept the pressure on her.

she couldnt focus on magic while dodging the attacks of a single man that was not implied to be faster than her.

could she have survived against 2 of them? 5 of them? probably not, so i dont see her winning agains the gate of babylon.

and your arguments actually disregard Gil's intelligent, nigh-omniscience via his precog NP, which is nearly the same as solomon's which is enough for FGO to call solomon "omniscient" over and over and the fact that Gil can sense divinity and actually takes people with divinity seriously. hell, he even takes a random guy like sasaki kojirou with some degree of seriousness. only if you are a random human he wont.

taking you seriously =/= using Ea because he has a very specific bond with that weapon and considers using it against nobodies a disrespect to the actual sword

In regards to "stopping Val from using the sceptre", there are two reasons why that doesn't happen.

1 - Val does not use her own magic to fire it, she uses the magic of the sceptre, so Darq is unable to simply smother Val's magic to stop it.

2 - the sceptre comes from the caves of the void, and is thus resistant to magic like every other monster and God killer weapon that comes from it.

Gil's powers all use his own magic to activate and use, and are not innately resistant to magic.

As for SNI, Hil actively restrains and ignores that power in his F/SN form because he's just too arrogant to use it.

If you absolutely must have a counter for GoB, atomising/erasing all the incoming weapons like she atomised/erased the horde of vampires that jumped her is a possobilty, as is simply shunting out of the way to another universe.

And I really need you to understand how much PIS Darq suffers from. She's easily taken on two armies at the same time throwing magic around the whole time, and you're saying that the time she fought Mavolent means she can't use magic if she's pressured? She's predicted what's going to happen by seeing people's magic, yet somehow gets hit by a surprise attack that uses magic?

Darq suffers from heavy PIS, and unlike CIS, Darq's PIS doesn't happen in a vs match, so examples relying on it are irrelevant.

the problem with that is that he is resistant to magic. his magic resistance is rank C and his golden armour has a much higher resistance than that. FSN even has Rin say "yeah, the guy is basically immune to magical attacks with all his bling, so i am not even going to try to fight him".

also, did she erase those vampires? i cant recall how she deal with them, however, i recall pretty much word per word how they were keeping her from using more advanced forms of magic.

Darquesse: "i could kill you with a snap of my fingers, Skull"

Skull: "then snap them if you can"

cue narration on how every time she tried to atomize them with a snap of her fingers, all the vampires had to do was slap her hands down so that she couldnt do it and for a significant ammount of time, she couldnt kill them and skulldugery was tag teaming with that group to get in close to her with the godslayer sword.

random vampires were literally stopping her from using magic just by getting in her face and slapping her wrists down

I would say, as long as Gate of Babylon requires Magic to work, which it very much does, she can shut it down. And as far as I am aware, she is very much ready to delete someone if he threatens her life. Only way to kill Darq would be to push her so hard she cannot fight back, but the chance of that happening is pretty much null with Gils character included.

He will openly defy the need to use the more powerful weapons in his Arsenal and go "all out" on her.

Thought that is just my opinion.

@Embrace The fight against the Godkiller weapons and the vampires is a terrible example to use because it is so bogged down by PIS (not CIS) it is ridiculous. It literally establishes arbitrary rules for her powers that have never existed before, then straight up breaks those rules again in the middle of the fight.

Also, in regards to Gil being resistant to magic, his magic resist is very potent, and so I can see it being a problem.

However, it will not be enough to completely nullify her magic for several reasons.

A) Darquesse has feats of using magic on the God Killer weapons, which can resist the magic of the Faceless Ones

B) Much of Darquesse's powers are more like true magic, which the normal magic resistance cannot block. For example, her soul manipulation is like the 3rd magic, her shunting is like the 2nd magic, and her direct control over magic and her existence erasure are unlike anything from from Fate that magic resist works against. Also, she has a similar connection to the Source as Valkyie once she gains her Pure Magic, which is the source of all magic over multiple universes.
