General Godzilla Discussion

fun fact, the Super Complete Works guide for FW has the official timeline with all the monsters attacks

there's also interresting stuff:
most of these were translated by a guy on a discord server i'm in

Super Complete Works are so damn helpful I swear.

Fair, they also say that those life forms fused with sludge

Varan is also called the Heavenly Monster, which is a reference to he being adored as a god in the original movie

So wait, all the stock footage of every Godzilla movie before FW was in fact a documentary and those monsters appeared? That's interesting I guess, but isn't FW Godzilla a different version of Godzilla all together or are these continuities still seperated and I'm overthinking things?

No, the stock footage that appeared in FW

Many events of these eras still happen, most of them are altered mainly to Godzilla being sealed. For example it says that Mechagodzilla fought Anguirus, but it doesn't mention aliens so it was likely an EDF Mechagodzilla

So everything in both eras is canon to FW? That's fair, does it change any scaling from that movie or does that all remain the same?
Not really, the events are just mainly altered

For example, Biollante isn't there, Sanda too, Minilla is alone, Rodan fights Mechagodzilla without Godzilla, etc

iirc didn't Earth destroyed Ghidorah's black holes after he defeated him? i wonder if that's up to a possible upgrade or not

Just a question but would multiplying the calc we have of Godzilla breaching hollow earth with his atomic breath by 2x be acceptable since we got the "only functioning on half of his power" statement from an interview?

I wonder if the short video indicate something, maybe Toho would back at tokusatsu genre again after Shin Godzilla

Anyway that was amazing and so many callbacks in Godzilla vs Hedorah

I'd definitely say Legendary because of the build up sound behind Godzilla powering up before unleashing a burst of incredible atomic energy
If the atomic breath didn't look wimpier than a flamethrower when we first saw it and it didn't look so silly with the energy coming from the end of the tail (which makes NO sense, at least with other Godzillas it starts at the back and then rises to the head) I'd agree. That GvK scene somewhat redeemed it by making it so powerful.

(Fun fact, did you know the sound used for MV Godzilla charging up the atomic breath is a modified slowed down version of Kong's heart in King Kong Lives?)

Maybe, though tbf that first moment of Godzilla using his signature attack against the Female MUTO got me all kinds of excited even after first watching the movie this year. And yes I have heard that, that's pretty cool IMO

Oh crap you haven't seen GvK yet? Sorry if I spoiled any more than I should've

That's not a movie I like spoiling
