The Netflix CEO doesn't care about protecting Warner Brothers from becoming a tool for extremist propaganda, just about whether or not it makes him a profit (almost in his own words from the news articles above), whereas the Ellison oligarchy that owns Paramount, CBS, and likely soon TikTok, CNN, Warner Brothers, and DC Comics, is motivated by spreading as much totalitarian divide-and-conquer hate-propaganda as possible to make the far right fascist oligarchy that runs the United States permanent, with all of its citizens mentally and financially enslaved, impoverished, and surveilled, and all the other citiziens of the world bombed and blackmailed into submission by a tyrannical military-industrial war machine of imperialistic exploitation.

glad neftlix backed out. I would not trust them to do DC well consdering how often they cancel good shows and **** up tv shows. Paramount the lesser evil of the 2.

Netflix at least recurrently get adaptations right, such as the One Piece live action series.
In comparison, Skydance-Paramount has already quickly turned CBS into another Fox News indoctrination ethnonationalist imperialist social-Darwinian hate-machine, so they are going to do the same to TikTok, CNN, Warner Brothers, DC Comics, and the DC Universe movie franchise, and DC Comics and DC movies were finally getting on good tracks again after many years controlled and ruined by Dan Didiot and Zack Snyder.
I think that the DC superheroes are now going to be twisted into mixtures of The Homelander from The Boys and The Veteran from my own story, and the "Absolute" comicbooks are probably going to quickly be cancelled, as they are about fighting against oligarchy and fascism, not about endorsing and embracing it.

Paramount winning the bidding war is definitely the much worse of two evils, but I'm holding out hope that the deal will fail to go through. David Zaslav, in a leaked phone call, mentioned that the deal might not go through, in which case they get paid $7B. This makes me wonder if he knows something we don't, or if he doesn't even intend for it to go through. The California AG also said that they will be looking closely at it, and imo this is a textbook example of what anti-trust laws are for, so hopefully they strike it down. In addition to American courts, it will also have to go through courts in the UK and EU. Democratic Congressmen have also said that, when they take back power, they fully intend to break up the merger if it happens, so maybe that will make investors think twice about going through with it. Also, Paramount literally doesn't have the money to do this, so there is a very good chance that if it does go through, they themselves will be acquired within a couple years.

I really really really hope that you are correct and that the Ellison oligarchy acquiring either Paramount or TikTok will not go through, but Trump intends to use ICE, his own personal Gestapo private army, and likely other methods, to cheat to extremes in the midterm (and future) elections, as he does not want to go to jail for extreme corruption (or possibly for rap ing teenage sex slaves, if the full Epstein files reveal that), so we will have to see what happens.

I liked issue 5. This was honestly the most interesting Doomsday was since forever, and while I wished him and Clark was more expanded upon, I really feel like this was the best ending for someone like Doomsday. And overall, the event was.... ok ig? I really liked Superman's story, but everything else, other than Red Hood vs Joker which was very damn good, felt really mid or just ass.
I'm kinda skeptical about Darkseid's absolute crisis. Like ngl, I'm too damn tired of DC keep on trying to promote these big world altering events that get forgotten in months.

The last crisis event to actually have a damn impact was Death Metal. It has its issues, but it really sold that feeling of "finality" similar to hickman's secret war, even if it it's not as good.
Every new crisis event afterwards just feel like it's trying to capture that same steam but just kinda failing miserably. At least Death metal had a permanent impact on DC's entire narrative structure and cosmology, everyone just forgets about Dark Crisis, Absolute Power and etc because DC doesn't even make the effort to stick to the whatever new status quo there is. It doesn't help that all of them end up interrupting a lot of the solo series and made things feel messier.

I really liked Superman's commitment to that everyone should win (He seems to be a democratic socialist or libertarian socialist, like myself), and once again wonder if I am causing cultural harm through my work with helping to build this community. I definitely extremely strongly disapprove of real life obsessions with power-supremacism and crushing all opposition so only one person or some people ultimately benefit at the expense of everybody else.
