Both are the main antagonists from two of the most well known video game franchises. Who would win?

Speed is equalized.
Bowser vs ganondorf read describ by taurock-d9vmwi9

Bowser is Large Star Level+ as opposed to Large Star Level, but Ganondorf is much more knowledgable and tacticle; plus I think he does hold the edge in hax. I suppose I'll lean towards Ganon for those reasons.

That's a bit too much of a No Limits Fallacy, I think. I mean, if a 3-A hit him with a universe-busting attack, would it fail because it wasn't a HOLY universe-busting attack?

In this case where the two are 4-C he could have a valid point.

Neither of them have a Universe busting attack.

I said it was sarcasm literally two comments later..............

The triforce, a mystical power source created by three goddesses capable of granting the posessor a wish undid all of Ganon's magic and destruction in a single wish in A Link to the Past. True, this was after Ganon was already defeated, but it literally undid all of the effects of Ganon's magic on the land, brought back every single person who died, etc. Let's take this one step further. Even wielding the Piece of the Triforce of Power, Link, posessing the Triforce of Courage alone, without the capabilities of said wish, repeatedly defeats Ganon in fights.

Bowser Wields the Star Rod. A magical weapon wielded by an entire race of divine stars capable of granting all of the wishes of every single person on the planet. Also -- I've yet to see Ganon break invulnerability Hax, which Bowser has through the Star Rod. He also has extremely potent on the spot self-healing, which Ganon does not in any of his incarnations posess.

If Ganon's magic isn't completely undone by the Star Rod, he still has to get through invulnerability. Even If we argue that the Triforce is much stronger than the Star Rod, then Nayru's Love should be an example as to how his attacks interact with Invulnerability hax from a significantly weaker force than the Star Rod. If he somehow manages to get through the invulnerability, he still has to fight a pitched battle against an opponent who can, with a second's down time, heal himself by 1/3 of his maximum potential.

Bowser either stomps with Invulnerability/Wish Power or wins a long fight by better long game attrition. Nothing in Ganon's Arsenal hits quite like the best Paper Mario can dish out (without prep-time), and The most that could do was about 1/6th of the Koopa King's health (unboosted by Kamek's machine, taking the stats from the hallway battle.)-- so a battle of attrition is a likely scenario even if Ganon does overcome the Wish Power and Invulnerability.

My vote goes to the Koopa King.

EDIT: To address the point of the Holy Weapons only thing (assuming for a moment the Star Rod doesn't count as one, which it probably should, given its origins...) -- that's simply untrue. Ganon is defeated in several games by non-holy weapons. Off the top of my head there's Four Swords Adventures & Zelda 1.

Screwattack's DB of this match-up sums up my thoughts pretty well; Ganondorf's magic, higher intellect, and his own physicality would allow him to win against Bowser.

Coming from the person who did wonders for Ganon's profile...

Bowser should take this. Petrify and be on his merry way.

Exactly, Bowser also has Poison Gas that can poison Ganon and the Terrorize to halve Ganon strength and durability.

Ganon tries to attack Bowser with elemental attacks -Bowser resists

Ganon tries to use power nullfication -Bowser resists

Ganon sends Bowser into the Dark World -Bowser teleports out

Ganon tries to... -Bowser uses spatial manipulation to create endless distance, Bowser turns Ganon into a statue, Ganon remains a statue for all eternity

I don´t know if this is still open, but my vote goes for Ganondorf.

Bowser is generally depicted as childish and humorous rather than dangerous, and is often outsmarted by other villains (which is the main reason why he always gets defeated by Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach). Ganon is a mastermind; he is an adept tactician and a master of manipulation and deceit. Ganon is also the reincarnation of Demise, who managed to gravely injure a Goddess in a fight.

Bowser has recently shown an absurd amount of durability too; however this is not the case in most other games. It is more known and iconic that Bowser is defeated by a lava pit in which sometimes it skeletonizes him into Dry Bowser. Ganon is only weak to strong holy weapons which is specifically mention in canon and it has been constantly proven more times than Bowser's invulnerability. He is capable of enduring mortal wounds ―ironically- by a holy weapon during his attempted execution or when Link pierced his forehead with the Master Sword (supposed to be the only holy weapon to kill him).

According to the Wise Toad (Russ T.), the Star Rod was made with ancient magic,ot holy magic; but assuming for a moment the Star Rod count as a holy weapon, The Triforce is a sacred golden relic left behind by the Golden Goddesses who are omnipotent and eternal. It also has the ability to grant the wish of those who obtain it. Plus, there's The Downfall Timeline in which Link, the Hero of Time, despite his best efforts, was defeated by Ganondorf in the final battle; which means that using the Star Rod doesn't assure Bowser's victory.

So, basically

Golden Goddess > Star Spirits

Therefore…

Triforce Wish Power > Star Rod Wish Power

Ganon's intelligence > Bowser's intelligence

Ganon's durability > Bowser's durability

Lol, but this is your first post. You should read the profile in the bottom. Bowser has many more abilities (some of which Ganon can't resist, and is resistant to most of what Ganon has) then what you have mentioned and bowser has better durability than Ganon (100 times more).

Yes, it's my first post. Sorry if it seems like a joke, but I can see Ganondorf has resistance to existance erasure that Bowser don't. Ganondorf can use the full Triforce to erase Bowser

@Zogriel What's stopping bowser from doing the same thing to ganondorf, except a lot more with the star rod.

@Theglassman12

Like I said, Ganondorf has Resistance to Existance Erasure + Power Nullification against holy powers to counter it which Bowser doesn't have. Also, this battle is not Bloodlust (I assume) so Bowser is In character which means he will employ his common flaws and won't use the Star Rod to erase Ganondorf just like he didn't with Mario.

While Bowser is often portrayed as a more comical villain, he's always considered dangerous alongside his comical personality thanks to his strength, tenacity, and dark magic. An in regards to being outsmarted by other villians, the only villian I remember actually outsmarting Bowser is Count Bleak. Cackletta just possessed his unconscious body, Fawful just sold him something to eat and took over his castle while he was somewhere else, the Smithy Gang used a sudden sneak attack to knock Bowser away from his castle, and Antasma was actually outsmarted by Bowser.

I'll admit that Ganon is more tactical and manipulative than Bowser, but I wouldn't say Bowsee is dumb enough to fall for most of Ganons tricks.

That instance in NSMB is the exeption rather than the rule, seeing how in many games he casually strolls though lava and has fallen into lava several times and emerged unscathed. Saying Ganon is only weak to holy weapons is wrong, seeing how in games like the original Legend of Zelda and Ocarina of Time he can be gravely injured by regular weapons like the Megaton Hammer. Neither Bowser nor Ganon ate invulnerable due to constantly being harmed by people on their level. While Ganon is capable of enduring mortal wounds, so is Bowser. Bowser has been reduced to just a skeleton and was still able to fight with as much skill as he did before.

According to the Wise Toad (Russ T.), the Star Rod was made with ancient magic, not holy magic; but assuming for a moment the Star Rod count as a holy weapon, The Triforce is a sacred golden relic left behind by the Golden Goddesses who are omnipotent and eternal. While the Star Rod doesn't assure Bowsers victory, neither does the Triforce assure Ganons victory. The Star Rod being holy or not doesn't matter as it's been shown that simply hitting Ganon hard enough does the job. The Triforce being made by the Goddesses has no barring on this fight, considering that the Triforce is nowhere near as powerful as its creators, and the Goddesses are not omnipotent.

Golden Goddess > Star Spirits

Therefore…

Triforce Wish Power > Star Rod Wish Power

Ganon's intelligence > Bowser's intelligence

Ganon's durability > Bowser's durability

That's not how it works. You can't say Ganon has greater durability than Bowser just because the Goddesses made the Triforce and gave it better wishes. You can't say that the Triforces wish granting is greater than the Star Rod just because it was made by the Goddesses. I'll agree with the intelligence part though.

Anyway I'm gonna give thoughts on the match up. This is gonna be long btw, like, way longer than it needs to be.

Strength:

First up is the considerable gap in strength. Bowser is superior to beings that use Power Stars (Which at least generate 9.88 foe) putting him at the higher end of Large Star level. While Ganon is closer to the lower end of the tier. Even if we were to assume Ganon has the power of a supernova he'd still be around 10 times weaker and less durable than Bowser. It would take repeated chip damage for Ganon to match just 1 punch from Bowser.

Skill:

In terms of fighting skill both have shown skill with different weapons (Ganon with swords and tridents, Bowser with hammer and magical wands), and both are highly skilled with magic. However in the end I'd give Ganon the edge in skill due to his final battles in The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess where he matched Link, who is a highky skilled swordfighter.

Powers and abilities:

Before I get into this there's one point I want to address, the wish granting abilities of the Star Rod and Triforce. I've seen plenty of people on the Internet say "Ganon via wishes on the Triforce" or "Bowser wishes his opponent away with the Star Rod". Personally I only go by what wishes they've been said and shown to grant. I'm not going to say Ganon can erase Bowser with a wish, because the Triforce hasn't shown the ability to erase people, nor will I say Bowser will erase Ganon, because the Star Rod has never shown that ability. As wish granting items both the Star Rod and Triforce are prone to NLF and I personally think it's best to only use whats been shown with their wish granting.

Now we move to their abilities. They share a lot of powers (Such as elemental manipulation, teleportation, duplication, and summoning just to name few), and they also have abilities the other doesn't (Bowser has stuff like spatial manipulation and time travel, Ganon has stuff like invisibility and death manipulation). However overall I'll have to give Bowser the edge in this category, for starters Bowser resists a lot of Ganons magic. Death Manipulation? Resisted. Elemental Manipulation? Resisted. Being pulled into the Dark World which transmutes people? Resisted. Power Nullfication? Resisted. Sent to the gap between dimensions? Teleports out. Whereas Ganon doesn't really resist any of Bowsers abilities. While Ganon does have resistance to sealing (One of Bowsers abilities), it's not very good resistance seeing how he's been sealed away multiple times and needs years to break out of them, so Bowser can more than likely seal him away. Also Ganon has no counter for Bowsers "Endless Staircase" trick, what's to stop Bowser from keeping Ganon away with spatial manipulation while spanning transmutation or sealing spells? Now Bowser doesn't resist all of Ganons magic (Like mind control) but he resists a decent chunk of it, limiting Ganons options.

Now Ganon has low-godly regen, but it has drawbacks that make it far from perfect. And Bowser has infinite self-resurrection, whenever he dies he pops back to life seconds later at peak condition (Basically low-godly regen for all intents and purposes). Neither Bowser nor Ganon has the ability to kill the other. Bowser can't destroy souls, and while Ganon does have soul manipulation, he hasn't shown anything overly impressive with it, plus I think Bowser displayed resistance to soul manipulation in Super Paper Mario but don't quote me on that. However, Bowsers resurrection happens almost instantly as shown in the Thousand Year Door, whereas Ganon either needs a few weeks to construct an ideal body, or go insane by creating a new body instantly.

Also slightly off topic but why does the Triforce grant resistance to mind control, it can't be from Link resisting Agahnim since he never even used or even attempted his mind control on anyone else besides the castles soldiers. I'm asking because Bowser apparently has mind control and I want to know if Ganon would actually resist that

Bowser has transmutation, he turned the toads into stone and plants in the original Super Mario Brothers, and turned a Koopa into a frog in Mario Party 2. Ganon has no counter for this, and Bowser has shown he's willing to use this (He used this on just a regular Koopa out of anger, so it's very likely he'd do the same to someone much more powerful than a Koopa). I'd also like to point out that Bowser has power nullification of his own as shown in the Thousand Year Door:

20171022 140324

Conclusion: Between the large advantage in strength, resisting quite a few of Ganons abilities or having a counter for them, along with stuff like transmutation spatial manipulation which compliments his already superior range, I think Bowser wins 7 times out of 10. In the event Bowser dies he just pops back to life seconds later, whereas Ganon losses his intellect advance if forced to regenerate. Not saying this a stomp in Bowsers favour or Ganon has no chance whatsoever, but to me, Bowser is more likely to be the victor.

Ganon:

•Superior Intellect (Unless forced to regen)

•Can seal Bowser

•Can mind control Bowser

•Invisibility

Bowser:

•Far greater durability and strength

•Infinite Resurrection

•Spatial Manipulation (Can make it so none of Ganons attacks or magic can reach him)

•Superior Range

•Warping time and space

•Can seal Ganon

•Transmutation

•Resists Ganons Elemental Manipulation, Death Manipulation, Power Nullification, Poison Manipulation, Dark World BFR

•Power Nullification

Thats my needlessly long thoughts on the battle. Feel free to disagree and argue against it.
