Frieza hax abilities additions

Hello, the light novel for the movie dbs broly has some pretty good hax for frieza when he first encountered the frieza force and was taking over for king cold.

Fear manipulation:
"Frieza, as King Cold called him, stepped forward in front of his father and directed his gaze at King Vegeta, who was standing frozen. The moment their eyes met, King Vegeta involuntarily stepped back and fell to his knees, bowing his head deeply.

"Ah... th-this is an honor to meet you, Lord Frieza..."

It wasn't something he did consciously. The moment he locked eyes with Frieza, his body reacted on its own. For a proud Saiyan, it was nothing short of humiliation". Raw here.

More examples:
"His voice and expression were cheerful, but his gaze brought a suffocating sense of pressure, as if a massive boulder had been placed on one's chest. King Vegeta trembled with fear to his core, lowering his head deeply to avoid Frieza's gaze.

King Cold was powerful, possessing an overwhelming level of combat strength. Even knowing that he was unbeatable, it was possible to stand up and fight against him. But from Frieza... there was an unfathomable sense of dread. Just standing before him sapped any will to fight, a feeling that one's very spirit was being crushed". Raw here.

More justifications here: It's said that king cold knew frieza had a "genius for evil" which made him want to have frieza take over. So this means frieza is more evil than king cold which we'll get more into right now.

Basically it's fear manipulation because frieza made king vegeta feel fear, and dread, all at the same time to the point where king vegeta dropped to his knees, not even consciously. These are all byproducts of fear manipulation. He didn't even know he was doing it, he just did it. Yet this does NOT happen for king cold despite being described as "unbeatable". Saiyans also can't sense power levels at this point, they can't feel actual ki, yet despite this, simply standing near frieza alone sapped them of their will to fight or do anything, and frieza was very casual, not even trying. It feels like a massive boulder was placed on his chest, his spirit is being crushed, etc. Again, none of this happens with king cold, despite knowing hes unbeatable, yet it just happens with frieza. This should be enough to warrant the upgrades. This would not be social influencing because the saiyans didn't even know frieza before he was introduced and then all the affects happened when he gazed at them. Despite king cold being very evil, seen as unbeatable, etc, these affects didn't happen, they wouldn't realistically know how evil frieza is. Which is why king cold doesn't have it, because frieza is more evil than he is naturally.

Disagree.

A character can naturally instigate fear without possessing the ability to literally create, manipulate, and inject within an individual the emotion of fear. Charisma, intimidation, power, and presence are real world concepts that hold tangible influence on the psyche on others, and, in Dragon Ball especially, characters of high status, of high strength, and of great evil or even calmness can instinctively induce fear in lesser combatants.

Like, seriously,
His voice and expression were cheerful, but his gaze brought a suffocating sense of pressure, as if a massive boulder had been placed on one's chest.
Even if the Saiyans do not know who Frieza is, they can still have fear instigated within them.

Nothing supernatural is occurring.

Yeah no, the fact that none of this happens with king cold who is about as strong as frieza is, and is seen as unbeatable by the saiyans, this is definitely not just, "Oh frieza is just EXTRA scary", king vegeta literally fell to his knees by frieza just looking at him. Please look at the scan null. His body reacted on his own and fell just by locking eyes with frieza. On top of other affects, feeling like his spirit is getting crushed, felt dread, etc.

Did Frieza inflict a level of "fear" upon King Vegeta using supernatural means, or was King Vegeta terrorized either by authority, strength or demeanour?

I can give you a hint.
You don't need to because you're off the mark. Again, this doesn't happen with king cold basically just as intimidating. He's also evil asf, and seen as unbeatable, yet frieza simply looking at him is enough to throw him to the ground, making his body react on his own, inflict dread. He couldn't do anything. Can't be authority because king cold never said frieza was in charge yet, it can't be strength because first form frieza is much weaker than cold.

Seems like social influencing - inducing fear, maybe I'm being harsh though.

Yeah I addressed this already, this is definitely not just via intimidation because he can stand up just fine and talk to king cold easily despite, king cold being much bigger than frieza and having more authority at the moment, being seen as unbeatable already, yet his will to fight or even stand didn't get sapped. And king cold is much more powerful in his current state, which obviously the saiyan's can't sense ki but just to get the "via strength" argument out of the way, or "via authority". From the description, this isn't just some intimidation, he kneels before him, his body did it on his own, he feels dread.

Something similar to this feat was discussed here, we ended up saying it was social influencing.

This is different though, it's not simply just "oh frieza has scary eyes". His body dropped on its own and started to feel all kinds of things, what difference is there in frieza and king colds glare? He's literally just fine when facing king cold, I guess king vegeta just doesn't like frieza's eyes or something? Lmao, it's not even power or appearance either, king cold has all of that, he's more powerful, has more authority, it doesn't say anything about frieza's eyes being more terrifying than king cold, he feels a pressure, that makes him feel fear, experience dread, anxiety, like his spirit is getting crushed, suffocation. Just by being in frieza's presence, this has nothing to do with frieza's appearance, or his eyes specifically.

So basically, freiza has a presence, the way he carries himself, the way others are perceiving him, that’s making king vegeta so afraid he’s afraid to fight. Also, people like goku can stand up to him just fine. Looking at now, I think it’s social influencing, it seems like he’s just got a really intimidating presence, not via some superpower, but that’s just how he is.

My primary concerns lie here:
"King Cold was powerful, possessing an overwhelming level of combat strength. Even knowing that he was unbeatable, it was possible to stand up and fight against him. But from Frieza... there was an unfathomable sense of dread. Just standing before him sapped any will to fight, a feeling that one's very spirit was being crushed"
I don't recognise how exactly this would correlate with simple Social Influencing. As it is stated Freeza's presence creates a sense of dread that crushes King Vegeta's will to fight. Freeza's stare is simply what begins the interaction.

Strength? Scans state that King Vegeta already knows he can never beat King Cold but he still has the will to fight him.
Reputation? King Cold is the master of the Saiyan race at this time and has a reputation of cruelty. Freeza is an unknown element.
Appearance? King Cold shares the same physical characteristics of Freeza but is many times larger.
Demeanor? It is stated that Freeza's presence alone crushes King Vegeta's spirit. I don't currently recognise how mere body language can break the will of a warrior-king that regularly commits genocide for fun.

In short, my concern is that there doesn't appear to be a mundane explanation for why Freeza induces this reaction in King Vegeta and the text suggests there is something deeper affecting the King at his core.

There's no supernatural element at play here, it's just social influencing. Furthermore, Goku and Piccolo fought Frieza in all his forms and they weren't affected in this way.

Disagree FRA.

this is blatant intimidation.

you guys probably haven't had anyone stare at you this much that you think it is fear hax.
The fear of a higher authority or power is different from the fear of being intimidated intently.
In the same way the fear of someone with killing intent staring at you is different from the fear of someone with malicious intent

I've dealt and interacted with certain people and some of them do exhibit this kind of trait. This is at best Social influencing and at worst Intimidation.

How the people react to intimidation is not a proof of fear hax.
they may be identical results but they stem from 2 different cause

The keyphrases in the original text are:
底知れない恐ろしさ (sokoshirenai osoroshisa) which translates to "bottomless terror" or "unfathomable fear"
根本的にへし折られる (konpon-teki ni heshi-orareru) which translates to "fundamentally broken" or "completely shattered at the core."

This is in context with Freeza's effect on King Vegeta. The level of fear he experiences and how deeply it impacts him. In other words it's stating the level of fear Freeza induces in King Vegeta is 'bottomless' or 'unfathomable' and that it is 'fundamentally breaking' or 'completely shattering' his core. This is one example translation with ChatGPT

These are the primary things in the original text that make me think it isn't simply mundane intimidation. Either this is an additional ability Freeza has with Social Influencing that he should have added to his profile (as it's distinct from the Social Influencing listed on the Ki page due to King Vegeta not being able to sense Ki) or it's a form of Fear Manipulation. Either way it should be usable.

Couldn’t King Vegeta’s fear of Frieza simply stem from him being aware of his vastly higher power compared to him assuming he could sense his power? We don’t really see anything like this happen again iirc

this basically proves that it is more about the aura of his power rather than actual fear hax.
especially with how it was compared to Can You Still Fight King Cold despite being on a higher level while Frieza is just a terror which is contextually referring to strength and power as per prior statement
It should be noted simply terrorizing the opponent either by authority, strength or demeanour only would qualify as Social Influencing, as Fear Manipulation would allow the user to inflict fear regardless of these factors.

This is the first moment King Vegeta is meeting Freeza. King Vegeta does not have the ability to sense Ki at all. The context of the scene is even Freeza 'gifting' the Saiyans with first generation scouters so they can detect power levels.

The text even goes out of its way to state it has nothing to do with power level. King Vegeta can't even remotely hope to beat King Cold but still feels the will to resist him. Freeza crushes it entirely. And this is 1st Form Freeza when King Cold is compared to Final Form Freeza in the Daizenshuu and arguably the original manga.

So no. It has nothing to do with power.

As I stated above this has absolutely nothing to do with power. That makes no sense because King Vegeta can't sense Ki, has no idea how strong Freeza is, is facing 1st Form Freeza and the narration states King Cold is impossible for King Vegeta to defeat yet doesn't induce the same reaction.

That doesn't matter whether they can sense it or not
the sentence contextually make it so because they can feel the power difference regardless with ki or not.
Despite King Cold being impossible to defeat they can still fight him but as for frieza it is a different story

In that case I’m more inclined to agreeing then

It does because the Social Influencing that Ki has currently is based on the ability to sense Ki in the first place. If Freeza can induce fear in someone who can't even sense Ki then that means what he is doing is a separate thing. So either he has his own, superior, form of Social Influencing or it's a form of Fear Manipulation.

This, again, is 1st Form Freeza. With a power of, at most, 530,000.

King Cold is compared to Final Form Freeza and stated to be only slightly weaker than him in the Daizenshuu 7.

You are effectively arguing King Vegeta, someone who can't sense Ki at all, can somehow feel the power of Final Form Freeza.
