Promotional material is not indicative of canon. Their purpose is usually not to provide information on what’s canon or not, but to generate hype and interest in a product, which is exactly what is happening here. Marvel and DC are promoting the crossover to get people interested and so they can earn money. Practically all big companies do this, but it isn’t an indication of a shared canon.
Yes, the crossover content exists. Nobody denies that the crossover exists. However just because it exists doesn’t mean it is canon. What you haven’t provided are explicit statements from figures of authority that the crossover is legitimately canon.
No, my argument is that: “Promotional material should not be treated as indicative of official canon, as the purpose of such material is to build hype and interest, not to provide informative content on what is or isn’t canon.”
I’d also like to know where exactly canonicity is confirmed. I hope you’re not gonna send a statement by Donny Cates or something because he is not an authority on what is or isn’t canon to Marvel.
Shown to be canon how?
Yes, Marvel made comics about the crossover. Marvel always makes comics when they’re crossing over with another franchise. This doesn’t mean the crossover is truly canon at all.
What? Are you saying that Donny Cates’ statement on Twitter was approved by Marvel and Epic Games editorial? Do you have literally any evidence of that?
Mark Basso is just one of many editors at Marvel, his word is not indicative of official canon. Marvel has many writers and editors who all frequently make contradictory statements.

That’s not what I said at all. Stop twisting my words to make me look bad.
Seriously, why do you do keep saying these kind of things? Like at this point it kinda feels like it’s on purpose.

Agreed on that first part. I mean how can this: "Go check out our brand new issues of x series that released on July 27. Bonus available if purchased in store." indicate whether something is canon or not. Just a promotional statement meant to get people to buy the comic.
This however, "Set in Marvel Comics continuity, the events of NEXUS WAR take place between the panels of THOR (2020) #4, which released this past March" is telling us "oh, you see this other comic series, it took place between the panels of this other comic series. They happened in the same Continuity and are Canon".
Two very different statements. One is specifically promoting a comic and the other is specifically telling the status of Canonicity and Continuity of another comic in relation to another.
Yes, the crossover content exists. Nobody denies that the crossover exists. However just because it exists doesn’t mean it is canon. What you haven’t provided are explicit statements from figures of authority that the crossover is legitimately canon.
I never said just because it exists means it is Canon. If you acknowledge that the crossover comics exists then you also have to acknowledge that is is Canon because it directs follows off the first issues of Thor series that was also going on at the time and is stated to be explicitly take place between the panels of the fourth issue of said Thor series. You cannot have one without the other when you are literally being told AND shown that they are connected.
And yes, I have provided multiple explicit statements from figures of authority stating this is indeed Canon. Read them.
No, my argument is that: “Promotional material should not be treated as indicative of official canon, as the purpose of such material is to build hype and interest, not to provide informative content on what is or isn’t canon.”
Again, I don't see how this: "Go check out our brand new issues of x series that released on July 27. Bonus available if purchased in store." can indicate whether something is canon or not.
I’d also like to know where exactly canonicity is confirmed. I hope you’re not gonna send a statement by Donny Cates or something because he is not an authority on what is or isn’t canon to Marvel.
I forgot to ask, do you even know who the authorities figures at Marvel are? A few names would help. And I already explaine dhow Donny Cates' has authority when it comes to this. Read it.
So you didn't read any of my previous messages where I explained this? To summarize: Wolverine is in the forest and then suddenly, the Bifrost appears on him and teleports him into Fortnite. The Bifrost reappears and teleports him back with no memory. Storm, Psylocke, Domino and Mystique are teleported by the Bifrost into Fortnite. They are then teleported back with Fortnite weapons and no memory of what happened.
Literally as clear as day.
Yes, Marvel made comics about the crossover. Marvel always makes comics when they’re crossing over with another franchise. This doesn’t mean the crossover is truly canon at all.
So what Marvel always makes comics, what is the point of saying that? Anyways, those last two comics are not crossover comics, they're literally regular mainstream Marvel comics so your argument does not work at all. And in no other Marvel collaboration comics have they emphasized Canonicity as much as this. And the Thor comic is literally part of the Thor series and is explicitly shown AND stated to take place within its panels so it counts as much as the other ones.
Saying otherwise is like ignoring all the individual solo MCU films that happened between each Avengers movie. Those solo movies happened between the Avengers movies but they are still very much Canon and part of the same Coninuity. It is the same here. Nexus War happened between the panels of the Thor series and I'm not even the one saying this because Marvel themselves literally confirmed this and so did Donny Cates who is the author of both.
What? Are you saying that Donny Cates’ statement on Twitter was approved by Marvel and Epic Games editorial? Do you have literally any evidence of that?
Yes, that is how the comic book industry works. I already went into detail over this so you can go back and look at my previous messages. To summarize: anything such as statements that would impact IPs and elements must be approved by the Editorial at Marvel and CCO at Epic Games. It is a creative and legal foundation so for Donny Cates to be able to make such a statement, he would need approval from the Editorial and CCO at Epic Games who have said the same thing and more specifically, declared otherwise.
Mark Basso is just one of many editors at Marvel, his word is not indicative of official canon. Marvel has many writers and editors who all frequently make contradictory statements.
Okay? where exactly are these marvel editors who frequently make contradictory statements regarding this? More specifically, where has Mark Basso himself made such contradictory statements regarding canonicity? You literally made that up.
Also, look at his statement again: "One of the most exciting things about the crossover is how naturally it keeps a foot both in Fortnite and the Marvel Universe.
We had a lot of great creative discussions BETWEEN Marvel AND Epic Games about where our storylines could cross over naturally, and seeing how prime a target the Fortnite Island would be for Galactus, who Donny Cates had already been exploring in his THOR series, set the whole thing into motion."
He's not just speaking for himself, he's literally telling us that this was done by creative discussions with both sides. Your "just an editor," doesn't work because making them Canon and in the same Continuity was done by the Editorial and CCO at Epic Games, he was just stating what they discussed and agreed to.
Literally as clear as day.

Look in the OP, literally linked in the Marvel section and its is easy to find.
That’s not what I said at all. Stop twisting my words to make me look bad. Seriously, why do you do keep saying these kind of things? Like at this point it kinda feels like it’s on purpose.
That is exactly how your argument sounds like, there is no twisting. You have been given more than enough evidence yet you still chose to be ignorant.
I think it’s actually really feasible to scale Fortnite without leeching off the feats of other verses.
Except then it is not Accurately Indexing their statistics which defeats the whole purpose of this.
You call it "leaching" because you do not understand how scaling works at all. Nor do you have the Integrity and Authenticity to do so.
Yes, around the crossover versions of those characters.
Except their explicitly stated to be their main Continuity versions.
There’s no need for any debate about it because fusing Marvel, DC, and Fortnite cosmologies results in multiple Tier 0s which is straight up against site standards.
Once again, you have no idea how any of this works. Mainstream Marvel Comics doesn't have a Tier 0.
And like Agnaa said, a verse with a Tier 0 being canon to another series does not mean that the latter series would get its own Tier 0. They would have to be concretely and consistently shown to be the exact same being.
