Fortnite doesn't have anything that big on its own justifying it

And besides messing with DCs and Marvel's lore with the tier 0

Why does Fortnite have to have something big of its own to justify it? Isn't the whole point of this to see what's canon based on what is said about them by the creators and copyright holders?

This is the type of mindset one should not aim to have.

Despite the creators and copyright holders stating they're canon to each other, your argument is that since Fortnite doesn't have a Tier 0 or something big enough, it can't be canon and the editorial statements don't mean anything.

I find it really difficult to believe that we cannot establish a crossover in SOME capacity, given Marvel and DC have been the most consistent and concise crossovers to touch Fortnite, with years upon years of multi-media content.
How exactly are you going to establish a crossover for scaling if the entire point of the counterarguments is that crossover scaling would create a problem?

Like I said before:

The entire thread is actively ignoring the cosmology of all 3 verses and how incompatible they are. And like Ayo said, the only evidence is promotional advertisement.

How exactly are Marvel Comics' and Invincible's Cosmologies incompatible with Fortnite's?

In Storm: Earth's Mightiest Mutant #4, we are literally shown how the Omniverse works and I've already explained all of this. There are Multiverse Clusters inside the Omniverse and each Cluster represents an series/setting. On panel, we could see the Jujutsu Kaisen and Gachiakuta Clusters among other franchises.

So how exactly are Marvel Comics and Fortnite incompatible when you are given this to go off? I'm not trying to mix their individual Universes or Multiverses, that does not work and is not even implied anywhere. The point of this is that they have a shared Continuity.

With Invincible, it's literally just shown to be a different Dimension/Universes and vice versa.

You are trying to create an issue that does not exist or has already been addressed.

However, with DC, it hasn't been fully explained yet so I can't say for sure.

Not even Reed Richards can stretch as much as this.

How exactly are Marvel Comics' and Invincible's Cosmologies incompatible with Fortnite's?
We do not treat Invincible like it's canon to the cosmology.

Besides the fact that this comic is bad and was actively ruining previous writers work. This proves nothing? Unless you're saying that JJK, Lovecraft's universe, and whatever else, is canon to Marvel now? If you treat this more than just a funny reference, than that's a you problem.

So how exactly are Marvel Comics and Fortnite incompatible when you are given this to go off? I'm not trying to mix their individual Universes or Multiverses, that does not work and is not even implied anywhere. The point of this is that they have a shared Continuity.
All your "proof" is nothing but fun references and marvel begging for us to buy fortnite comics.

With Invincible, it's literally just shown to be a different Dimension/Universes and vice versa.
Yet, we still not scale Invincible to anything to Marvel. Like I said, it was just a fun cameo. Same thing with Spawn.

You are trying to create an issue that does not exist or has already been addressed.
The fact that you did not think about any the problems we have spoken of shows that you either lack the interest to properly research the cosmologies you're trying to merge, or you're purposely ignoring any problems just to have funny tiers in Fortnite's profiles.

Pulling the Invincible and JJK card just shows how cameos work with Marvel. They're nothing but cool moments to get people talking. They're not meant to be taken seriously.

Read my previous messages on the first page. Literally all the scans in the OP that I looked at (which is everything except the Invincible and LEGO stuff iirc) are either:
-Meaningless promotional hype
-Statements from a few Marvel/DC writers who have NO authority on what’s canon
-Statements about the crossover like “we put a lot of effort into this” that are obviously not indicative of any shared canon
Also I am 99% sure those comic lines are one off Elseworld stories that are not even connected to the main narrative in any capacity.

1. I already addressed your "promotional" thing before this was closed. To summarize, it does not matter at all. Just because something is advertised and promoted does not make it meaningless. Its even more ridiculous to say that when the statements in question were made outside of the promotional window and materials.

I also don't think you understand what a promotional statements is. An example is: "Go check out our brand new issues of x series that released on July 27. Bonus available if purchased in store."

That is an example of a promotional statement. Its whole purpose is to promote a material to a certain audience. Nowhere did I present such a statement as evidence.

I also don't think you understand how marketing works. They have to advertise in order to get sales but just because that is one of their primary goals does not mean everything else is meaningless. Every new media or material you've seen has been advertised, promoted and hyped in some way and form but that does not make the content and meaning of the material meaningless. The whole point of it is to get people to see the thing, not to lie to them. If you believe they lied that is something you have to prove.

Lastly, lets look at the the contents to see if they actually delivered like they said they would. They released two whole comic series, two whole tie-ins and a whole Season in Fortnite following those said events. That totally seems very meaningless to me.

This is your whole argument: "Yeah sorry Marvel and Epic Games, your verses can't be canon because when you released these things you advertised and promoted your stuff in order to get sales and people to see them and even though you've confirmed canonicity multiple times already in different sources, It's meaningless because you promoted." Very compelling argument.

And like Endou_God_Hand stated, this is years of clear shared continuity, collaborations and crossovers that you are trying to frame as meaningless just because comics were promoted. Like tell me a single comic series that has never been promoted before.

Lastly, looking within the comics themselves which is objectively outside of the promotional window, it's literally shown to be canon. What do you have to say about that? Fortnite X Marvel - Nexus War: Thor (2020) #1, Wolverine (2020-2024) and X-Factor (2020-2021).

2. I also already went over this. You have don't know how the comic industry works and the legal and creative foundations that are in place especially with crossovers dealing with other IPs and elements. For Donny Cates to make the statement that he did that affects all the IPs and elements involved, the editorial at Marvel and Epic Games have to give permission and approve of said statement regarding canonicity. And I also showed you the statement from Mark Basso (outside of promotional window btw) confirming Canonicity. And we also have Marvel themselves confirming Canonicity as I showed you already multiple times and Donald Mustard himself.

According to you, the author, the editorial team, the EIC and CCO all have no authority on what's Canon.

-Statements about the crossover like “we put a lot of effort into this” that are obviously not indicative of any shared canon.
Yeah and where exactly did I show such a statement? What is the point of saying this when it doesn't even apply?

Also I am 99% sure those comic lines are one off Elseworld stories that are not even connected to the main narrative in any capacity.
Okay so you're saying all of this despite never actually reading the comics themselves? with a 99% certainty as well? Wow, you are an impressive person. I also gave you the exact issue and date of the comics if you want to just take like a minute or so and google them and give them a quick read.

How exactly are you going to establish a crossover for scaling if the entire point of the counterarguments is that crossover scaling would create a problem?
TBF I don't really have a foot in the race in regards of actually scaling stats wise, etc. I simply do not support or feel the argument of "There is no possibility for crossover scaling because the source material / promotional material doesn't support it" is wrong, but I think the most important thing is that Fortnite can't be scaled properly without accepting crossovers in some capacity.

Entire seasons of lore revolve around other properties, like Chapter 5 Season 4 "Absolute Doom" which is entirely based on the Avenger's taking down Doctor Doom, Chapter 2 Season 4's Nexus War revolves around Thor, Galactus, and the Avengers.
Even in casual gameplay, weapons such as Gojo's Hollow Purple, Detroit Smash, John Wick's pistol, batarang's, etc. would need to be indexed, and you can't do that if you don't allow crossovers.

The idea that the cosmologies are incompatible is something I don't think I could properly debate, and frankly that probably should be addressed alongside this CRT, however, suggesting that Fortnite is not eligible for crossover scaling at all, not even one way, feels incredibly disingenuous when you view the nature of Fortnite, how it presents it's lore, and how it especially has a very intimate relationship with DC Comics and Marvel.

Also in what regard are the X-Men, Wolverine, etc. scans from official comics "Elseworld" stories? Even within the context of the comic itself, the scenes are part of a main comic run, and the issues they belong to are too.

Not even Reed Richards can stretch as much as this.

I'm talking about Invincible and Fortnite since you said they were incompatible.

Besides the fact that this comic is bad and was actively ruining previous writers work. This proves nothing? Unless you're saying that JJK, Lovecraft's universe, and whatever else, is canon to Marvel now? If you treat this more than just a funny reference, than that's a you problem.
It proves everything. Marvel has an Omniverse of Multiverse Clusters that represent different franchises. The point was to show how this would work in the Cosmology. I don't know where you got the idea that I said those other series are Canon to Marvel. "Funny Reference" Where exactly is the comedy or humor in that? Is this your way of saying you have no actual argument?

All your "proof" is nothing but fun references and marvel begging for us to buy fortnite comics.
You clearly have no read anything I've said so far or are just being purposely ignorant. Its all just "funny references" that they released two whole comic issues, tie ins and a whole season that literally changed the development of Fortnite's story. And so what if Marvel is begging us to buy Fortnite comics (mind you it's also a Marvel comic and directly connected to the on going Thor series? That does not make it any less Canon.

What else is just a funny reference or do you only get to decide that and does it only apply when it fits you?

Yet, we still not scale Invincible to anything to Marvel. Like I said, it was just a fun cameo. Same thing with Spawn.
Yeah just a "fun cameo" that Robert Kirkman himself literally stated and confirmed it was Canon and was approved by Epic Games as well.

The fact that you did not think about any the problems we have spoken of shows that you either lack the interest to properly research the cosmologies you're trying to merge, or you're purposely ignoring any problems just to have funny tiers in Fortnite's profiles.
I was busy thinking of actual counter arguments, not your "just a funny references" argument. You call it funny profiles because you don't care about Fortnite or accurately indexed profiles. I do.

Pulling the Invincible and JJK card just shows how cameos work with Marvel. They're nothing but cool moments to get people talking. They're not meant to be taken seriously.
Is it just me or do I not remember JJK being stated to have shared Continuity with Marvel? Is it just me or do I not remember seeing Gojo fight Thor or something? Did JJK ever have two whole comic series released with Marvel? Did it have a whole Season (or arc in this case) dedicated to them that shaped the future story? Did JJk have statements from the author, the editorial team, CCO and the company stating its Canon? I sure don't remember any of that.

"cool moments to get people talking" that they had to do all of this and are still going to this day. Very compelling argument.

If you have an actual counterargument, let me know.

1. I already addressed your "promotional" thing before this was closed. To summarize, it does not matter at all. Just because something is advertised and promoted does not make it meaningless. Its even more ridiculous to say that when the statements in question were made outside of the promotional window and materials.
Promotional material is not indicative of canon. Their purpose is usually not to provide information on what’s canon or not, but to generate hype and interest in a product, which is exactly what is happening here. Marvel and DC are promoting the crossover to get people interested and so they can earn money. Practically all big companies do this, but it isn’t an indication of a shared canon.
Lastly, let’s look at the the contents to see if they actually delivered like they said they would. They released two whole comic series, two whole tie-ins and a whole Season in Fortnite following those said events. That totally seems very meaningless to me.
Yes, the crossover content exists. Nobody denies that the crossover exists. However just because it exists doesn’t mean it is canon. What you haven’t provided are explicit statements from figures of authority that the crossover is legitimately canon.
No, my argument is that: “Promotional material should not be treated as indicative of official canon, as the purpose of such material is to build hype and interest, not to provide informative content on what is or isn’t canon.”

I’d also like to know where exactly canonicity is confirmed. I hope you’re not gonna send a statement by Donny Cates or something because he is not an authority on what is or isn’t canon to Marvel.
Lastly, looking within the comics themselves which is objectively outside of the promotional window, it's literally shown to be canon.
Shown to be canon how?
What do you have to say about that? Fortnite X Marvel - Nexus War: Thor (2020) #1, Wolverine (2020-2024) and X-Factor (2020-2021).
Yes, Marvel made comics about the crossover. Marvel always makes comics when they’re crossing over with another franchise. This doesn’t mean the crossover is truly canon at all.
For Donny Cates to make the statement that he did that affects all the IPs and elements involved, the editorial at Marvel and Epic Games have to give permission and approve of said statement regarding canonicity.
What? Are you saying that Donny Cates’ statement on Twitter was approved by Marvel and Epic Games editorial? Do you have literally any evidence of that?
And I also showed you the statement from Mark Basso (outside of promotional window btw) confirming Canonicity.
Mark Basso is just one of many editors at Marvel, his word is not indicative of official canon. Marvel has many writers and editors who all frequently make contradictory statements.
And we also have Marvel themselves confirming Canonicity as I showed you already multiple times
Please provide the scans again.
According to you, the author, the editorial team, the EIC and CCO all have no authority on what's Canon.
That’s not what I said at all. Stop twisting my words to make me look bad.

Seriously, why do you do keep saying these kind of things? Like at this point it kinda feels like it’s on purpose.
Fortnite can't be scaled properly without accepting crossovers in some capacity.
I think it’s actually really feasible to scale Fortnite without leeching off the feats of other verses.
Yes, around the crossover versions of those characters.
Even in casual gameplay, weapons such as Gojo's Hollow Purple, Detroit Smash, John Wick's pistol, batarang's, etc. would need to be indexed, and you can't do that if you don't allow crossovers.
Uh…we can index them? You do realize we allow profiles for crossover specific versions of characters right?
The idea that the cosmologies are incompatible is something I don't think I could properly debate
There’s no need for any debate about it because fusing Marvel, DC, and Fortnite cosmologies results in multiple Tier 0s which is straight up against site standards.

I'm talking about Invincible and Fortnite since you said they were incompatible.
I never said anything about Invincible?

Yeah just a "fun cameo" that Robert Kirkman himself literally stated and confirmed it was Canon and was approved by Epic Games as well.

Is this your way of saying you have no actual argument?
So... According to you, Lovecraft is canon to Marvel, and thus, we should go ahead and downgrade all of the verse because a writer just wanted a cool panel to show off? Cool! Go ahead and make the crt so we can just agree FRA. You didn't even read the comics, did you? It goes to show that you have, in fact, zero knowledge and are still aksing for people to merge the cosmologies. Good job.

Is it just me or do I not remember JJK being stated to have shared Continuity with Marvel? Is it just me or do I not remember seeing Gojo fight Thor or something? Did JJk have statements from the author, the editorial team, CCO and the company stating its Canon? I sure don't remember any of that.
Why even bring him the case then? Stop grasping at straws just because you lack any actual argument besides "They said it's canon!" You're the one trying to say JJK is canon to Marvel, you're the one saying that lovecraft's universe is canon to Marvel, and you're the one saying that Gachiakuta is canon to Marvel. "I didn't said that!" Then don't bring the case, and stop wasting time on a moot point.

Honestly, that's... Not really a problem? That's just the Fortnite's version of the characters, they're similar but lack any actual connection to their actual universes.

Agreed on that first part. I mean how can this: "Go check out our brand new issues of x series that released on July 27. Bonus available if purchased in store." indicate whether something is canon or not. Just a promotional statement meant to get people to buy the comic.

This however, "Set in Marvel Comics continuity, the events of NEXUS WAR take place between the panels of THOR (2020) #4, which released this past March" is telling us "oh, you see this other comic series, it took place between the panels of this other comic series. They happened in the same Continuity and are Canon".

Two very different statements. One is specifically promoting a comic and the other is specifically telling the status of Canonicity and Continuity of another comic in relation to another.

Yes, the crossover content exists. Nobody denies that the crossover exists. However just because it exists doesn’t mean it is canon. What you haven’t provided are explicit statements from figures of authority that the crossover is legitimately canon.
I never said just because it exists means it is Canon. If you acknowledge that the crossover comics exists then you also have to acknowledge that is is Canon because it directs follows off the first issues of Thor series that was also going on at the time and is stated to be explicitly take place between the panels of the fourth issue of said Thor series. You cannot have one without the other when you are literally being told AND shown that they are connected.

And yes, I have provided multiple explicit statements from figures of authority stating this is indeed Canon. Read them.

No, my argument is that: “Promotional material should not be treated as indicative of official canon, as the purpose of such material is to build hype and interest, not to provide informative content on what is or isn’t canon.”
Again, I don't see how this: "Go check out our brand new issues of x series that released on July 27. Bonus available if purchased in store." can indicate whether something is canon or not.

I’d also like to know where exactly canonicity is confirmed. I hope you’re not gonna send a statement by Donny Cates or something because he is not an authority on what is or isn’t canon to Marvel.
I forgot to ask, do you even know who the authorities figures at Marvel are? A few names would help. And I already explaine dhow Donny Cates' has authority when it comes to this. Read it.

Shown to be canon how?
So you didn't read any of my previous messages where I explained this? To summarize: Wolverine is in the forest and then suddenly, the Bifrost appears on him and teleports him into Fortnite. The Bifrost reappears and teleports him back with no memory. Storm, Psylocke, Domino and Mystique are teleported by the Bifrost into Fortnite. They are then teleported back with Fortnite weapons and no memory of what happened.

Literally as clear as day.

Yes, Marvel made comics about the crossover. Marvel always makes comics when they’re crossing over with another franchise. This doesn’t mean the crossover is truly canon at all.
So what Marvel always makes comics, what is the point of saying that? Anyways, those last two comics are not crossover comics, they're literally regular mainstream Marvel comics so your argument does not work at all. And in no other Marvel collaboration comics have they emphasized Canonicity as much as this. And the Thor comic is literally part of the Thor series and is explicitly shown AND stated to take place within its panels so it counts as much as the other ones.

Saying otherwise is like ignoring all the individual solo MCU films that happened between each Avengers movie. Those solo movies happened between the Avengers movies but they are still very much Canon and part of the same Coninuity. It is the same here. Nexus War happened between the panels of the Thor series and I'm not even the one saying this because Marvel themselves literally confirmed this and so did Donny Cates who is the author of both.

What? Are you saying that Donny Cates’ statement on Twitter was approved by Marvel and Epic Games editorial? Do you have literally any evidence of that?
Yes, that is how the comic book industry works. I already went into detail over this so you can go back and look at my previous messages. To summarize: anything such as statements that would impact IPs and elements must be approved by the Editorial at Marvel and CCO at Epic Games. It is a creative and legal foundation so for Donny Cates to be able to make such a statement, he would need approval from the Editorial and CCO at Epic Games who have said the same thing and more specifically, declared otherwise.

Mark Basso is just one of many editors at Marvel, his word is not indicative of official canon. Marvel has many writers and editors who all frequently make contradictory statements.
Okay? where exactly are these marvel editors who frequently make contradictory statements regarding this? More specifically, where has Mark Basso himself made such contradictory statements regarding canonicity? You literally made that up.

Also, look at his statement again: "One of the most exciting things about the crossover is how naturally it keeps a foot both in Fortnite and the Marvel Universe. We had a lot of great creative discussions BETWEEN Marvel AND Epic Games about where our storylines could cross over naturally, and seeing how prime a target the Fortnite Island would be for Galactus, who Donny Cates had already been exploring in his THOR series, set the whole thing into motion."

He's not just speaking for himself, he's literally telling us that this was done by creative discussions with both sides. Your "just an editor," doesn't work because making them Canon and in the same Continuity was done by the Editorial and CCO at Epic Games, he was just stating what they discussed and agreed to.

Literally as clear as day.

Please provide the scans again.
Look in the OP, literally linked in the Marvel section and its is easy to find.

That’s not what I said at all. Stop twisting my words to make me look bad. Seriously, why do you do keep saying these kind of things? Like at this point it kinda feels like it’s on purpose.
That is exactly how your argument sounds like, there is no twisting. You have been given more than enough evidence yet you still chose to be ignorant.

I think it’s actually really feasible to scale Fortnite without leeching off the feats of other verses.
Except then it is not Accurately Indexing their statistics which defeats the whole purpose of this.

You call it "leaching" because you do not understand how scaling works at all. Nor do you have the Integrity and Authenticity to do so.

Yes, around the crossover versions of those characters.
Except their explicitly stated to be their main Continuity versions.

There’s no need for any debate about it because fusing Marvel, DC, and Fortnite cosmologies results in multiple Tier 0s which is straight up against site standards.
Once again, you have no idea how any of this works. Mainstream Marvel Comics doesn't have a Tier 0.

And like Agnaa said, a verse with a Tier 0 being canon to another series does not mean that the latter series would get its own Tier 0. They would have to be concretely and consistently shown to be the exact same being.

I never said anything about Invincible?

Why even bring up Robert Kirkman? What does he have to say that will remotely justify merging DC and Marvel together? Why are you bringing up random facts just to try to justify your stubborness from actually taking a moment of your time to analyze DC and Marvel? Did you even read the pages of their cosmology?

Good job.

Honestly, that's... Not really a problem? That's just the Fortnite's version of the characters, they're similar but lack any actual connection to their actual universes.

Why even bring up Robert Kirkman? What does he have to say that will remotely justify merging DC and Marvel together? Why are you bringing up random facts just to try to justify your stubborness from actually taking a moment of your time to analyze DC and Marvel? Did you even read the pages of their cosmology?
You're asking me if I read? I bet you've never even heard of these comics until I brought them up. And even now, I bet you haven't read them at all despite the fact that I gave you the exact title and release date.

So... According to you, Lovecraft is canon to Marvel, and thus, we should go ahead and downgrade all of the verse because a writer just wanted a cool panel to show off? Cool! Great job, you've said nothing relevant and are still on a point left eons ago.

"They said its Canon" and its the copyright holder themselves. Your lack of Integrity and Authenticity is astonishing.

It seems to me you've never even opened the Crossover and Canon page on the wiki before. And YOU'RE the one who brought those things up. The whole point of that scan was to show how the Omniverse operates and how Marvel's and Fortnite's Cosmologies are indeed compatible which you said they weren't with no justification whatsoever.

Honestly, that's... Not really a problem? That's just the Fortnite's version of the characters, they're similar but lack any actual connection to their actual universes.
This where I ask, can you prove this? Its funny you ask "Did you read the comic," when in the comics themselves, you are literally explicitly told it is the main Continuity version of the characters.

"Its just the Fortnite versions," yeah that's a lie you just made up to justify your lack of Integrity, Authenticity and inability to discuss.

I am personally hesitant on applying cosmology aspects from crossovers to Fortnite that aren't directly referenced in said crossovers.

IE: The DC Crossover directly mentions their infinite universes, but not the Sphere of the Gods, Limbo, etc.

The Black Winter may have some complicated cosmology reasoning for Tier 1 in Marvel comics, but unless that same cosmological reasoning is directly mentioned in the crossover, I'm hesitant on applying it to Fortnite Cosmology.

If someone who followed Fortnite picked up these crossover comics, what could they deduce on their own without having to explore the other franchise in-depth.

The Black Winter in the crossover is an entity that will consume all creation for a lack of better words. Creation, as far as the Fortnite comic conveys, is a multiverse-type structure. Unless higher dimensions are directly mentioned, I wouldn't apply it.

I wouldn't want to assume anything outside of what the crossover directly mentions.

At this point discussion is going nowhere. I’m just gonna wait for more staff to give your thoughts.
