Fire Force to Soul Eater Part 2 - Merge and End of Series Maka and Co

Beyond the points here, the fight starts with Asura not caring much to engage of the three. He simply wants them to leave the moon. This includes the vajra shot the group "tank", it is nothing more than a warning shot. Eventually Asura does realize they won't leave and commits to fighting.

Chapter 108 is mostly Asura questioning why the group blindly follows Shinigami/Death and only taking Black Star seriously (who in the prior chapter activated his madness of power)

Chapter 109 has Asura commit to making the group feel every fear he knows. Asura throws Base Maka away, considering her dirt that doesn't belong in the fight.
He holds back his full power on Kid as he wants him to fully awaken. The one moment he decides to commit to killing Maka, Black Star interrupts him. Black Star and Maka amped by resonance then tag team him, and evade his attacks, though they leave no notable damage to Asura at all. Maka is also shown to tire out doing this.

Chapter 110 has Kid fully awaken as a true god, with Asura saying he will know how wretched humanity is. Kid rejects Asura's beliefs and says his father was not like him. This notably infuriates Asura, who from this point onward fights seriously and is no longer holding back. Asura notes full power Kid is a bit weaker than Madness Black Star and refers to amped Maka as thrash, easily repelling her demon hunt.

Asura recommits to Killing Maka, and fires a blast at Kid and Star, which they both tank. He then one Shots Maka, who only survives due to regen. She notes it was a gamble and wasn't sure it would work.

This should make it evident base forms for the three cannot scale to Asura

Death the Kid

Full power Kid has rather poor showings against Serious Asura, his only solid durability feat against him being partially tanking a energy blast meant to push him and Star back long enough to let Asura kill Maka. That said, Asura says He is slightly below Black Star in power and is classified as a true god. Death notes that by fully awakening, Kid will be receiving his power. Despite not being shown to harm Asura, he can still deflect Serious Asura's Skin attacks.

Asura notes Kid could fully fight him if he used the Madness of Order, though Kid refuses, since it would affect mankind.

Maka

Maka is perhaps the strangest jump in power for her "super form" but it can be contextually explained early on that Soul (after being infected with black blood) had equal potential as Crona to become a kishin.

In chapter 83 and 83, Soul is exposed to Crona's Mad Blood, which accelerates his own Madness, and he becomes far more powerful than before. He eventually makes peace with it and resumes control. Maka also achieves the peak of her soul perception around this time, being able to focus out to the entire planet.

After being nearly killed by Asura, Soul unleashes his evolved black blood to maximum in combination with Maka's power, perfecting her black blood dress and bringing to similar levels of power as Star and Kid. Black Dress Maka is shown to have durability surpassing Death, as a blood lusted Asura's Vajra piercing attack only makes a small hole in her shoulder. The same attack cleaved off a good portion of Death's body and broke his barrier, with the Databook noting this as the basic level of power for Vajra. Maka also shows superior durability over full power Death the Kid, as Maka remains conscious even when Asura concentrates his gravity attack on her shoulder wound, said gravity attack making Kid nearly pass out.

Maka's initially Kishin Hunt makes Asura bleed a bit (also shown here) and her second one mortally wounds him, though it was amplified by soul resonance in chain with Kid, Star, Tsubaki, Patty, and Liz.

As such all three transformations scale downscale from Asura / and or scale to Death.

Small little thing, to those who might still be skeptical on the power jump. I'll do an explanation regarding "madness wavelength" and gods and true gods.

In chapter 23, Stein states Asura has madness and soul wavelength that are described as "godly", in comparison to normal wavelengths. This is also stated of Poseidon (who was God of the Sea) and his spear, which are stated to have a Godly Wavelength in the canon Audio Drama. The Great Old One of power is stated to have a similar Godly Wavelength, on par with Asura. All the Great Ones have their own divine tier madness on par with each other.

This leads into "Gods" and True Gods. True gods are actual divine beings like Death, who rule over the world and can affect all of humanity. "Gods", meanwhile is a title bestowed to powerful beings capable breaking human limits, like Mifune being titled as god of the sword.

With that out of the way, In the Salvage Arc near the end of Soul Eater, the Great One of Power bestows upon Black Star and Kid his Madness, empowering them. Black Star goes on to make it his own and master it to its fullest. Asura directly compares his usage of it to the Great Old One of Power, solidifying his power jump to the divine class. Asura notes he has not only surpassed human limits but has a became a true warrior god.

Kid does keep the madness of power but never masters it to the degree Black Star does. His usage of that specific madness is shown to be inferior to activating even one of his sanzu lines, as shown on the moon fighting the clowns. His power jumps are Base, Madness of Power, 1 line, 2 lines. Kid only truly enters the divine class after activating all three lines, gaining his father's madness of order and becoming a True God.

As stated prior, Maka's jump is due to both Soul's own potential to reach the classification of Kishin and the mastery and acceptance of his evolved black blood, alongside resonating with Maka's top tier perception abilities. Maka has the best soul perception on the planet, far surpassing Kid in that regard. In a way Maka and Soul are even more of anomaly than Black Star, which the manga does make clear to the reader.

I feel like even on a narrative basis that jump isn't absurd

At the end of fire force, shinra constantly rewinds time and edits the world continuously, to the point he ends up being tired. He expends all this energy to create the world into a world of death and souls. Death then finishes the job by removing pyrokinesis from the world. In doing so it is stated that those with strong souls are now stronger than they were before.

The very concept of them being stronger in the world of souls is something that is stated verbatim in the very first chapter of soul eater and is a plot point that remains throughout the entire series.

Beyond all the implications and just flat-out statements of Asura basically just being the reborn despair that shinra put to sleep at the end of fire force, it's also important to note that before death was made into an actual entity it was stated to be the final destination of the collective unconscious, at least twice within fire force. Death is the ultimate salvation to the previously never-ending cycle of salvation and despair.

Shinra takes death as a concept and makes it an actual being, making it closer and in turn lessening the value of life. Death is very much meant to be an entity at least within the same tier as adolla/collective unconscious. Given that we've already gone over that not only is death a true God, but also has a heavy emphasis on having the same power of God as shinra, one can see why they are as strong as they are. This also aligns with the role of true gods being that they rule over the cosmos.

I don't think that can necessarily be proven but like a scaling chain I came up with that follows everything I proposed thus far is something like this

EOS Black Star (stated by the author and the narrator to be above Asura) > Peak Asura (shown to be above the main characters in power) > madness black star (shown to be the most impressive against Asura) > black dress maka (can actually damage asura, shown to have better durability than full power kid) > full power kid (stated to have his father's power, least impressive against asura) = death = chapter 22 asura (this version of asura was stated to not be at full power yet, and would require death to have a death scythe to actually beat) => the collective unconscious

oh yeah kishin crona doesnt have an exact location in that chain, we just know that version of crona should in the same tier as the maka and co

it is but it isnt finished. ill do that tomorrow

also it seems option 1 has passed i take it? Three mods and all

I think it should say "6-C in base, at least 5-B, likely 2-C with _________" just to make it easier to read, since there are three tiers there
