The guy's got a sword and is good with it, that alone gives him a huge advantage against a brawler like strowman who has no feats of dealing with swordfighters.
WWE is the quite close to real life, and there a mugger with a knife can kill the most experienced of the martial artists just because that's how real life works and going h2h with a blade is extremely risky and difficult if for soldiers and other people trained for that.
Grabbing the rapier is out of picture and requires unrealistical skill in this regard, which Braun lacks.

Seriously, what can Braun do here? Charge and punch a guy who can stab and poke him from a distance? Braun is surely super strong, but he's still barehanded against a swordfighter and the he lacks hax or other fictional abilities that would help him.

This may sound spity, but I just think it's an unfair match up

bro, the fencer is too weak, his only useful ability is to literally retreat when they are going to attack him, but he is left exposed, besides even the master can beat him.

john cena would be something like a fencer vs a boxer (like this)
