English vs. Original Translations in Digimon

I don't particularly care about names, (except special dumb cases like "Creepy"mon) so I would be fine with whatever is decided. I myself use whatever name comes to mind, dub or sub. I do believe we should have redirects for the names not used, people searching for Omegamon should be directed to Omnimon..

On the topic of Digimon names, the Zeed part in ZeedMille and ZeedGaruru has also been translated as Xeed. An X followed by EED. Essentially, EXCEED. Anyone else think it sounds cooler: XCEEDMillenniummon and XCEEDGarurumon?

Yeah it sounds cool. But it kinda ruina familiarity. I mean everyone knows Zeed. To suddenly change it to Xceed would not be the best.

The Xeed stuff wasn't some fanfiction of a Nogan myths that some guy invented for lulz? (If nobody remember this, I'm going to feel really old...)

I prefer Zyid (Ajora's translation of the name), as again, has more meaning to the context of the digimon. But Zeed is ok (and the official name).

The Xeed part was Megchan's translation, you can still see it on his encyclopedia site (which is archived now). Ajora uses Ziyd IIRC.

Its not really an issue... well, nowadays. Back in the day it was really a debate. It just made me remember those days (I'm feeling old, lol).

Unlike many others, I was never bothered with Digimon names lol. Except Creepymon of course. But the fandom does seem to mind, especially some of the dub audience.
