Elder Centipede vs Overgrown Rover

big ol centipede vs big ol doggo

nice

Anyways I'm thinking Rover. I would assume he's more durable due to the fact that EC's shell was still completely damaged by Bang and Bomb at the same time using a weaker technique than the one that was used on Rover which Rover still tanked with no damage at all. Along with the fact he has better ranged options with his energy blasts I would say Rover could pull out a win. EC does have size going for him tho

Hmm... I feel like if Elder Centipede could tank Rover's blast coil around him and strangle him then he could potentially win.

But still leaning more on Rover. His blasts are deadly, not sure how they compare to Genos blasts but they seem very strong and his resistance is also nothing short of amazing.

Plus Rover is a gud boy

The main reason EC was a huge threat was because barely any heroes had the range and AoE to kill him, Rover doesn't have this issue. Rover should certainly be stronger/more durable than EC, and even if he wasn't he'd be able to destroy EC from the inside with a blast through the mouth, since it's EC's shell that's the tough part.

In-verse OPM matches should be done more often imo.

Alright, so looking at their feats, Elder Centipede fought Bang, Bomb and Genos at the same time. It no-sells Genos' attacks, Metal Bat's unamped attacks and Bang and Bomb's attacks after molting. Genos was only able to harm it by targeting its weak spots/internal organs and even that didn't do much lasting damage. Saitama ended up using a serious punch to beat it, so we can't use him as a scale here (although he's usually too inconsistent anyway)

Rover took a stronger combined attack from Bang and Bomb and took no damage. It also destroyed Garou without really trying too hard and, unless this gets retconned too, it can tank a casual Saitama punch without taking too much visible damage.

Overall, neither one has the means to hurt each other that much. Their durability is beyond their respective AP, and even if Rover does damage Elder Centipede significantly, its molting should allow it to adapt enough to no-sell Rover's next blasts. I also can't imagine Rover targeting, let alone being able to hit, EC's weak spots given its size and intelligence. Ima vote inconclusive
