Elden Ring General Discussion

Would the tarnished when he gets to the dlc get a 'Higher in the lands of shadow' sort of tier due to the scadutree fragments? So Elden Lord Tarnished would be 'At least Low 5-B, likely 4-A, Higher in the lands of shadow'?
Yes, Scadutree Fragments imrove their strength in lore exclusively in the Lands of Shadow. This is also explained by the fact that they go to the Lands of Shadow after beating Mohg but before going to Farum Azula and the Ashen capital. By the end of the DLC, they are on the level of themselves at the endgame, but when they return they are weaker.

Nice, would they also get Higher from buffs like golden vow and such? I've noticed that the dark souls protagonists don't have that on their profiles.

Those are more superficial than anything else. While they would get stronger, it's not really worth it to list every buff since we don't get in lore values on them. The only reason scadutree fragments are distinct is they build the Tarnished up to an entire key where they can fight gods, when ordinarily they couldn't at that point.

Should every Nightfearer recieve their own profile since they're all their own character with unique backstories and at least for some of them names?

Oh definitely. They all deserve their own. It's only blank RPG character types we give general pages to

New DLC stuff has some cool scaling things.

  • Caligo raid makes a giant ice storm. Seems bigger than the one she spawns in her arena, although I'm not entirely sure. Plus there's the Mountain shifting earth dragon which probably summons a bigger storm.
  • Mohg is now a boss for the first Dreglord, so they definitely have higher scaling than the standard Nightlords.

I like how the options for reality in the path with no Tarnished is:
  • Perpetual state of decay with Marika's impalement
  • Miquella charming the world is a state of Perpetual peace while Radahn fights star gods
  • The Nightlord destroys existence
  • The Dreglord eats existence
  • One of the various people inflicted with Madness ascends and burns the world
Really a no win scenario for anyone

You forgot:

  • The Hornsent somehow manage to create a deity of their own, reconquer the Lands of Shadow and do the same to the LB
  • Mohg accidentally manages to build his dynasty and bring it to power in the name of the Formless Mother and the world becomes a slaughterhouse
  • Rykard gets strong enough to devour the gods and then the whole world and now exists as a towering serpent writhing through time and space for all eternity
  • The Rot spreads even further, Millicent or Malenia (or both) finally lose all hope, the Rot God gets out of the lake and the whole world is infected
  • The glintstone infection spreads over the rest of the LB and takes over everything
  • The Flame of Ruin spreads far enough to be at its peak, allowing the Fell God to return and exact vengeance upon the world

Latest patch notes.

Gladius' heatstorm spans the whole map, seems like it could be pretty strong for powerscaling
Looking at pretty high estimates, it would only be around 7-B. To even reach 7-A, limveld would need to be around 7.57003709119 km^2. Granted, this is going off an old calc for burning the atmosphere.

Jesus, they really upgraded Artorias to hell and back. His power-up now has homing projectiles in it now and his combo game has gotten buffed a lot. I half thought for a second there he was gonna drop a ******* Getsuga Tensho with that super leap attack.

crazy thing about that first point btw. She does that seemingly map wide ice storm and hail attacks in her sleep. I'm serious I saw her model during the raid and she's eepy. you wake her up and then she leaves. crazy casual feat for how insane it is.

So with the invading nighlords, would they be given there own key, seeing they can be damaged by early to mid run nightfarers?

Yeah, each of them gets their own key since their powers are limited outside of their own nights it seems. Granted, some of them do things that they don't do in their own nights, but I'd extrapolate that to mean their raid tactics aren't viable during their own night. Like Augur doesn't need to use it's sealing bubbles cause the nightfarers are already confronting it and the like.

I wonder if the nighlords should also get (non-combat applicable) Resurrection aswell. Its impossible to fight any other nightlord without defeating gladius and yet he has an invasion.

Most of this might come from the flow of time being all fuckey (they actively talk about different nights bleeding over into each other), but true.

Also as a side note:

Straghess gets some dope hax since he has resistance negation for rot. He can literally take the power of the rotted woods away if you have it to make you susceptible to rot. Like, just think about that for a moment. A power, which entirely negates the influence of scarlet rot, something NOTHING in the base game was able to do, can just be yoinked by him. Basically anyone who has rot immunity is screwed fighting him.

Would the abilities the invading Nightlords display also be put in their regular key ability set? Or would the abilities they display in their invasion only be mentioned in their invasion form key even if it’s a weaker form of their Nightlord fight variant. ‘Cause I feel like stuff like Caligos blizzard and Gladius’ heat storm would be stuff their regular forms could do even if they only use it in their weaker invasion forms.

Yeah, the abilities of their nightlord selves should have all the same abilities. The only abiliites that may be a concerns are ones like I said that are novel to the raid encounter. Stuff like Gnoster stealing levels, or Maris using sealing bubbles.

Friendly reminder Straghess was created as the result of all the souls destroyed by Heolstor's Night that converged together. Meaning at least part of its power comes from the Night. The more we learn about Nightreign, the more Heolstor seems to be in a completely different league than anyone else in the Fromsoftware catalogue

It is me or it looks like in the death animation, Artorias is teleported back to Dark Souls 1 with a Manus black hole of time and space?
Yeah it definitely looks like that.

(I love all the returning souls stuff but oh my god I'm going to go crazy if these references start getting bigger lol. I'm not ready to jump into fixing Dark Souls rn).
