Dungeons & Divers (RP Thread)

Demiólke sighs, removing the restraints around her mouth. "You got something to say?"

"It's a mere annoyance. I can't see a thing~"
Demi sighs, waving her hand. The energy surrounding Blythe begins to light up in the dark, bathing the area around the back of the lift [where her and Blythe are sitting] in a gentle crimson glow.

"Better?"

"Better?"
Of course, this led to Blythe in a blushed smile replying, "Muuuch better~" giggling to herself, but shaking her head- don't wanna be punished again.

"Buttt, moving on~ We should try and have a look around~"

"There's nothing to see." Demi says, "It's just black. Can't extend my power far enough to see much else."

"She's right. There's nothing here. It's just dark, darker, yet darker! Kinda reminds me of what it was like when Zontr dragged me out of reality..."

Neltharion was looking around, thankfully, she had night vision, so the darkness wasn't actually a real problem for her... if it was, she'd have serious problems as they descended, though that didn't mean she wasn't at all nervous-- she was courageous not stupid.

The party continues to descend deeper into the dungeon. Since they departed, 15 minutes have passed. They all begin to feel a heavy pressure across their entire body; it feels difficult to move, as if chains have suddenly been attached to their body. Even so much as blinking feels slightly taxing, their eyelids feeling as if they were now made of weighted steel. But, it is bearable.

"Theres... the mana..." Neltharion growled, trying to take deep breaths to get her body used to the dungeon itself

"Ugh... Descending is always the worst..." Demi groans, moving her arms around a bit. Weighted, but moveable.

"Can still move, though."

Demiólke sighs. May as well not make the heavy feeling worse by keeping her immobile— Demi removes Blythe's binding.

"Behave. Got it? If we all fall to our deaths because of you, I'm killing you in the afterlife."

"Hey, put them back-" Blythe shook her head, "Fine~ I'll behave....since you asked so nicely~" and just held on to Demi for support. The feeling wasn't exactly nice, but she was too bored even to find enjoyment- she was told to behave after all.

"If every single trip we make is gonna be like this, I'd rather dive all the way to the bottom of this pit."

He was just quiet, letting the travel continue, trying to get used to the changing sensation of descending from the surface to this level.

Another 15 minutes pass, and the pressure gets stronger. A significantly stronger weight presses on the party from all sides— it feels as if one is trapped in a box. Blinking is so difficult that it would be more energy efficient to simply keep one's eyes closed. There is a sinking feeling in the stomach.

"Owwiww~" as if blinking wasn't an option already, only darkness became her friend and thus held on to Demi's shoulder for comfort.

"This is... normal?" Neltharion asked through gritted teeth, practically admitting that she hadn't done any dungeon diving before... that probably explained how much caution she took in regards to dungeon diving

Demi clenched her fists, keeping her eyes shut tightly. Her breathing was heavy, and it was clear she felt like she had to barf. She wrapped an arm around Blythe and held on tightly.

"Uh... it's usually not... this bad." She groans, "Definitely.... not..."

"Saying that will only make it.... worse~" even in her teaseful voice, Blythe still found herself shaking a little, though calmed down a bit from Demi's grasp.

Basil had closed his eyes as the mana had begun to envelop him, his body relaxed, almost limp. If he hadn't been sitting upright, it would have appeared as if he was completely unconscious. His breath flowed in a deep, even pattern, almost audible as it passed through his nose and lips.

"...It's easier if you don't fight it..." Basil muttered, almost more to himself than anyone else.

"...Let the dungeon's energy embrace you."

Dan calmed down, concentrating only on his breathing while he had his weapon in hand for anything, his eyes closed to concentrate his thoughts.

The group has to endure about 50 minutes' worth of suffering before they finally reach a stop. Every time they feel as if they have begun to adapt to the pressure, it becomes exponentially worse. A cycle of adaptation and then pain continues a few dozen times, enough to drive a normal man mad; but luckily, they were not normal! They were Dungeon Walkers: the best of the best that Humanity had to offer.

Demi did puke over the side of the lift more times than she'd like to admit, though. The side-effects of the pressure lingered with the group in the form of a never-ending urge to vomit out their dinner. Anyways....

Now, they've reached a stop. The lift lets out a few "beeeeeeeeeeep" noises, before shutting down in a vast body of glistening water that stretches on for eternity. The water ripples ever so slightly as the lift stops suddenly, and then peacefully stills itself once more. Whatever light source is causing the basin to shine so is unknowable, but perhaps it simply does so on its own. There's no place to get off, no platform, no nothing, just the water.
