This is the first time where I've seen a non-Dragon Ball artist's style actually work for Dragon Ball. His style looks good for Dragon Ball. I wouldn't mind a OPM/DB cross-over.

I agree with you guys that Beerus looks too buff though. But Zeno's Guards actually look cooler in his style than how they look in the show.

Murata's style is also one of my favorite anime styles. It's one of the few, along with Toriyama's, that stand out from other anime/manga styles.
 
Ehh... Akira Toriyama always had a variety of body types in his art style. He's always had beefy characters, skinny characters, and fat characters with little correlation to how poweful they were. I don't think he had a beefier style back then. His variety in body types is the same as it's always been. Just look at all of Frieza's forms as an example. His final form is stronger than his second form, despite the look. I don't think it's more likely Beerus would have been buffer if he were introduced in Z, and Beerus as he is now, is a design I'd expect from him. A buff Beerus would have been too generic and expected to be his style.

I think Akira Toriyama simply likes giving contrasting and unexpected qualities to characters. Frieza was introduced as the biggest threat ever at the time, despite his unintimidating stature. Jiren, who is based on Greys, is ripped as hell. Despite Greys typically being portrayed as frail and scrawny. It's simply a twist in design, which I've always liked about his style.
 
His Goku looks fantastic, kinda reminds me of a Family Guy episode where Brian and Stewie were drawn disney-like
 
Okay I know you guys might disagree with me but....i think his Beerus looks super badass. And nobody is going to cross those Zeno's Guards looking like that lol.


Although I still like Toriyamas Beerus better.
 
His Beerus looks badass no doubt. It's just not better than Akira Toriyama's like you said. Then again, really the only thing I like better in his designs over Akira Toriyama's is Zeno's Guards.
 
I think it kinda misses the point of Beerus' design.

Zeno's guards look legit.

Zen'ō promised to do the Tournament of Power, but with a twist.

All the universes that lose get erased. 4 universes aren't competing because their quality of life is pretty high though. Universe 7 has the second lowest rating, only beating Universe 9.

Before this tournament there's an exibition match between Universe 7 and 9. Goku, Gohan and Buu vs 3 wolf brothers named Trio De Dangers.

U7 wins of course. The Gods of Destruction hate Goku's guts since Goku asked for the tournament to be held (even though it's revealed Zen'ō was going to destroy the universes anyways, but now each universe can fight for a chance to survive)

Some Universe 11 guy named Toppo wants to beat Goku up for this. Toppo fights pretty well against Goku. And Goku eventually goes SSB Kaioken on him, but Daishinkan stops the match. Toppo reveals that his friend Jiren is even stronger than him. Much stronger in fact.

Also Tournament of Power is a battle royale where 80 people (10 from each universe) fight at once. Goal is to knock people out the ring but you can't kill them. Universe with most people still on the ring when 48 minutes is up wins. Additionally fighters can't fly in this tournament either unless they have wings like a bird.

Goku recruits Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, Android 17, Android 18, Master Roshi and Buu to fight on his team. Except Buu fell asleep and won't wake up. So Goku had to replace him with Frieza of all people.

Tournament is about to start. Frieza plans on betraying Universe 7 and Goku gets giddy after meeting Jiren, the super powerful fighter Toppo talked about.

Oh also Whis said that there's a mortal out there stronger than a God of Destruction that's stronger than Beerus. No one knows who it is yet, but most think it's Jiren. That's just speculation for now though.
 
Again it's somewhat lackluster, but because they're going back to the black hair I think this might be the final transformation we'll get.
 
@FTW I guess its a matter of taste i guess. Luffy's closest thing to a transformation was turning red with steam around him but it always got me hyped.
 
Honestly this could have been a great opportunity to implement Mastered SSB into the anime. Although the transformation looks hype anyways.
 
All the complaining about MSSB in the manga and vicious slandering of Toyos name for doing it, only for the anime to show signs of implimenting it in some form later.

Spoilers but Luffy did get 4th Gear and even before that he turned into Nightmare Luffy

I hope this is a Mastered SSJB form but can name it the Limit Breaker. It would be awesome and make more sense since the anime is the primary canon he'd want to do kaioken first anyway. Having parts of his Black hair glowing blue with the original SSJG Aura...my god I need to go change my pants.
 
I hope Vegeta eventually gets something to match Goku's now form/technique.

Ive always wanted for him to use the majin seal like Goku uses the kaioken.
 
If jiren is the mortal Whis was speaking about then Goku more than likely will leave Beerus in dust after this
 
Srsly i hope they make Vegeta get some spot light this time around and not be sacrifice pawn like every time to show the new antagonist to show their power, he literally jobbed to every villain in DB

At least make him beat toppo for example or let him take his revenge on hit xD
 
Hm...I have an idea of who the antagonist for the future arc might be, but it's reallllllly far fetched and likely just some crackpot conspiracy theory.
