Doom Eternal Revision Thread Part 2

We don't know what happened to the Moon that means we can make any assumptions for it that would give anyone a tier. We don't even have a time frame or anything.

And yes the Doomguy was the only one that can put the Icon of Sin down because he had the only weapon that can keep him dead, the Crucible. That doesn't mean the Icon scales to the 10k.

Well to be fair,"prophecy states" is a wobbly argument. The Makyrs. could have predicted these events with their precognition and what not(especially since Samuel is the Seraphim,he must have been partaking in witnessing future events occur) but for now the Icon's durability should be higher than the BFG10k,therefore making the doomguy the only being capable of incapacitating and stopping any resurrection attempts from the Icon of Sin.

He obviously is higher than the 10k,otherwise he wouldn't have stated Earth(or humanity as a whole) as no hope for survival. If he didn't he could just replace the broken pod and BFG,as the demons in Phobos are now cleared by Doomguy and just fire it upon the icon.Humanity's last hope is described as being a cryogenic pod carry humans in space and the remaining humans within phobos. So it should be reasonable to say that Samuel would be willing to kill the 10% of humanity(if not less) on a already nigh inhabitable earth to preserve a far larger portion on Phobos and on the ARC ship.

Samuel being the Seraphim is a fan theory, not in-game facts so that cant be used. I've mentioned "The prophecy" being an iffy argument a while back but I cant remember what the answer to it was.

The slayer is the only one capable of keeping the Icon down due to the Crucible as Ogbunabali said. The Icon is a titan, titans can only be kept down by the Crucible blade, thats the rule in-universe. I still don't think the Icon scales to the 10K.

It's implied to high hell though, with all the codex entries supporting evidence for Samuel being the Seraphim. This has actual evidence backing it up.With even the slayer entering the building where the Icon's heart was stored saying "Welcome, seraphim".This isn't a fan theory,it's an actual part of the lore.

One, the crucible scales to his physical tier because he was still able to take out a titan without it. Two, they didn't say only the crucible could stop the icon only DG could. Crucible blades in general are the only capable of keeping titans from resurrecting, so if doomguy wasn't there all Samuel would have to do is shoot the BFG 10K and stab the icon with his crucible. Btw we have only seen the titans resurrect into their already existing bodies, we have no way of proving that they could come back from complete vaporization.

Probably not going to be anywhere close to High 6-A but **** it I got gambling issues, I'm putting it all on black.

Personally it's fun to argue, however it would be extremely disappointing if they added all this lore to emphasize the power of both the Icon and the Slayer only to be completely neglected.

It's just the beginning, we will have story DLC and I'm sure Hugo will be doing more interviews expanding upon the lore.

Still triggers me that no one is mentioning the crucible from 2016.Especially now that the doomslayer owns it after the ARC mission.

The crucible is more than capable of turning into a weapon and has the power to

>Single-handlely solve world energy crisis and power all Arc facilities >Tear a Rift between Earth and Hell, which are the entire events of DOOM 2016 in the first place >Contain all the powers of the Wraiths.Who's very same energy is what led to the creation of argent energy to begin with.

This has to be worth something.

Wratihs don't scale to the cosmic spear as it wasn't a single wraith that did it. Also it sounds like the cosmic spear was a massive ship of sorts that the wraiths were in.

Take a look at the picture. Do you see how big the wraiths are? Take a look at the small end stick out of the planet at the bottom left, do you see the wraiths' tails wrapping around the spear? They were pretty much the ones thrusting the spear into the planet.

@ThisThingisReallyBroke

The 2016 one doesn't really do much in Eternal. It helped with research, and power the Fortress, not power the world. When could it tear a rift? Yes, it contains the power of the Wraiths, but we don't know how strong that is.

The description states the wraiths appeared after the spear pierced the planet and opened the Womb of the World which they "spilled forth" from. They didn't do anything with the spear and the image isn't to scale as we see wraiths aren't that large in game.
