Surge VS Albedo (Sonic the Hedgehog VS Ben 10)- Sam doesn’t know anything about Surge, so John explains the basics of her character. Sam says in response “I guess [the matchup] makes sense”.

Firekong VS Flame Dragon (Monster Legends VS Dragon City)- They don’t know the games, but John likes it.

Scion VS Lavos (Worm VS Chrono Trigger)- They don’t know anything about Worm, but Sam says the connections seem to make sense, and he thinks a Lavos fight would be cool.

Deku VS Spider-Man (My Hero Academia VS Marvel)- Erin and John say that Deku is “slowly becoming a Spider-Man”, and Erin thinks it’d be fun to play off the similarities between the characters. John points out that Deku was heavily inspired by Spider-Man. Erin thinks it’d be a Liam episode.

Calypso VS The Genie (Twisted Metal VS Aladdin)- They don’t remember Calypso. John thinks the dynamic seems similar to Bill VS Discord. Sam says there’s good animation potential, and a Genie fight would be fun.

Stan Smith VS Sterling Archer (American Dad VS Archer)- Sam says it makes sense overall, but he has “so close to zero interest in it”, mainly because he dislikes Seth MacFarlane’s style of comedy and doesn’t want to watch all of American Dad.

Ban VS Andy (The Seven Deadly Sins VS Undead Unluck)- Since both characters are immortal, it might be difficult to find a win-con, meaning it would be fun to analyze. Sam says some researchers are fans of SDS.

Blaze VS Rivet (Sonic the Hedgehog VS Ratchet & Clank)- Sam thinks Rivet is a better character than Ratchet, which derails the discussion. They don’t really talk about the MU.

Proto Man VS E-123 Omega (Mega Man VS Sonic the Hedgehog)- Sam thinks Proto Man needs more attention, and it’s a cool MU. At the same time, he thinks they'd be at a lack of content for Omega because he’s not in that many games, but John says he’s pretty prominent in the IDW comics.

Undyne VS Majima (Undertale VS Yakuza)- It makes sense, but Sam thinks Majima should get “more of a fever dream fight”. Erin thinks the fight track would pop off.

Raiden Shogun VS Saber (Genshin Impact VS Fate)- John gets why the MU is suggested, but says Fate characters are insanely broken, and should be pit against equally broken characters, which Raiden isn’t. Sam says Genshin Impact and Fate are both franchises that they really want to bring into DB, but they need to find the right MUs first.

The Crawler VS Miles Morales (MHA: Vigilantes VS Marvel)- “It’s Deku VS Spider-Man, but the spinoffs”, so if that MU makes sense, so does this one. Sam loves Miles and is glad that Spider-Verse has made him so popular.

Roy VS Roy Mustang (Fire Emblem VS Fullmetal Alchemist)- Sam thinks it makes sense and would be cool. It would probably be a fairly close MU, though they’re not sure where exactly FE Roy scales.

Ramen VS Spaghetti- They find it hilarious (as a meme, probably not as an actual MU). They all think ramen wins.

Kamen Rider Ex-Aid VS Neptune (Kamen Rider VS Hyperdimension Neptunia)- Ex-Aid being described as a “video gaming doctor” raises some questions. Sam says Hyperdimension Neptunia is right up their alley, and the MU seems fun.

Yamcha VS Ban (Dragon Ball VS The Seven Deadly Sins)- Returning to the earlier point from Ban VS Andy, John says Yamcha actually has a win-con, since his power is great enough to atomize Ban. Sam makes the point that, despite Yamcha being a joke character, he is still pretty powerful.

Garnet VS White Chain (Steven Universe VS Kill Six Billion Demons)- They aren’t familiar with Kill Six Billion Demons, but they love White Chain’s design. The connections seem strong, and the MU seems cool.

First matchup for the next Ballot Banter in Ember VS Sylvanos (Brawlhalla VS Rivals of Aether).

Okay, who was the person that submitted this MU and how did it get past? Like the only connection I can see between Yamcha and Ban are that both are or were thieves but are still ultimately good guys, but that's it. And really it's a complete mismatch because, while Ban does admittedly have somewhat worthwhile hax, Yamcha's sheer speed and power scaling to only just Saiyan Saga Goku would let him atomize Ban as John said and he would be too fast for Ban to do anything since his abilities are movement based.

No diss to BB, it looks fun and exciting, but I think there should be some type of standard for what gets in and what doesn't

DB is so bad with vg MUs that Joycap might avoid Shulk vs Lightning lmao
It may just avoid Xenoblade Chronicles altogether.
Shulk vs Lightning got a Death Battle Cast and passed the nomination round - just to get eliminated in the first round of elimination round of Tournament of Champions. The popularity is keeping on and Shulk and Lightning are more relevant in the current time than cole MacGrath vs Alex Mercer.

Meanwhile, I really fear Sans vs Judge would be below Cole MacGrath vs Alex Mercer and Killua Zoldyck vs Mikoto Misaka.

Are you saying that because I've always wanted to avoid Shulk vs Lightning, or... because DBa would actually c*ck up the episode?

Tbh, I’m still of the opinion Kurama is his best MU

From YuYu Hakusho? I have never touched YYH yes I am a dirty sinner, please forgive me so I'll take your word on Kurama being Yamcha's best MU.

By the way on my comment: If anyone interprets my words as being dickish towards the person that submitted Ban vs Yamcha then I apologize if it sounds like that, I think it's less to do with the person who submitted the MU and more to do with the MU itself being shallow and having bare minimum connections. And of course I know some MUs have little connections, but...what is it about Yamcha vs Ban that's exciting or screams "This is their best MU!"? Even fights with little connections need some level of excitement or gimmick that makes them stand out

I’m talking about a matchup for Ban not Yamcha

So, one of my more wanted Western Animation matchups confirmed dead in the water
Oh yeah any actually good Chainsaw Man matchup?
I mean... some I think could be fun that I saw surfing around included
Denji vs Kaiman (Dorohedoro) or Ash Williams (Evil Dead)
Makima vs Alucard (Hellsing)
Kishibe vs Vergilius or Roland (both from ProjectMoon) - maybe Quanxi vs Iori (also ProjectMoon) as well
Aki vs Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III (Critical Role)

Would be fun.

Almost forgot, someone suggested Worst Girl Power vs Best Boy Inosuke (Kimetsu no Yaiba)

Oh wow, they acknowledged that Fate chars are insanely broken, good to know lel, but that also make Raiden Shogun vs Minamoto no Raikou an L for Raiden since Raikou is insanely broken too (in hax wise she doesn't have much tho, but her resistance is a different story)
Which is why Saber (Artoria) vs Luke need to happen

As for Genshin MU, i rather want HSR MU to be in DB first before that soulless cash grab cow game

They are not ready for the weirdness (in good way) show of Ex-Aid
Seriously, they need to watch at least one of the Kamen Rider series beside Ichigo

Dipping my toes in to request that you people do not post any more racial slurs (even in memes or images) or softcore pornography in discussing your animated battles between fictional characters. Doing so will result in Excommunicado. Good day.

Wait someones posting slurs?
What even is the slur?

Or Bambu is just making a general reminder because some drama happened outside this thread?

Several users posted the N-word in an image a few pages back. Just a reminder to be extremely careful about that. Even in non-serious posts, that's been known to result in immediate bans Fandom-side.
