D&D Adventurer WIP Blog Pt. IV

It's pretty well 4x speed, because you now have to react to 4 times the amount of attacks and 4 individual bodies, and 4 times durability because you have to land 4 times as many hits. If anything, my example that it's 'merely a clone with amped stats' is downplaying the situation since 4 unique clones would inevitably shitstomp any one person [X] whom is cloned.

So, I'll technically give you the semantics win there honestly; you're correct, my example is downplay because the reality is much more staggering and much more severe.

In no world will any being beat 4 perfect clones of itself, or even stand a 1% chance of doing so. I'd honestly insist on seeing any support for this theory, considering it proves the Level = CR thing wrong entirely.

And my idea is NOT that lower levels are comparable in a strict sense, merely that they can punch above their paygrade. This is a built-in game mechanic and to dismiss it is disingenuous.

Certain characters can be higher than their CR suggests. We already accept that and use it, hence why a CR 67 creature is rated as 2-C, possibly 2-A and everyone capable of batting at CR 30 isn't automatically Low 2-C via Demon Lords.

If lore reasons give a character a reason to be higher, they are higher. If not, they scale to default CR ratings.

I'm not going to argue this anymore because nothing new has been said in awhile.

I concur, I'll make a CRT on it sometime soon and be sure to leave a message on your wall so you can absolutely participate!

Thank you for the legitimate discourse, Bambu, it's honestly always a pleasure, cheers and sorry if I derailed this thread with this if it's 'off-topic' or anything, my bad.

Thank you, and not a problem, these threads have served as a general discussion/running CRT for a fairly long time while you were away.

Inner Planes are wacky. Although its pretty extreme. Like how if you space travel in the D&D multiverse you can just suddenly end up in the Vacuum Plane.

Or if you're in the deepest, darkest halls of Mithril Hall a great wyrm shadow dragon named Shimmergloom can be transported to the Material Plane simply because it's.....really really dark(tooootally didn't happen to Clan Battlehammer though, cuz that would just suck and be silly right??)

Or a maelstrom can sweep a ship into the Plane of Water.

Or a cold glacier transport an adventurer to the Plane of Ice.

It's so wacky how the Elemental Planes just have open gateways dependent on how strong their element is represented in other Planes.
