How is the lightning treated within the story/scene/world? Cause just because lightning and electricity works one way IRL doesnt in anyway mean it works like that in fictional works.

40K tends to throw in the technobabble anyway, so if there was any indication about ground dispersal, it would've been said. On the other hand, you have literal explosions going off in their faces because of it, so yeah.
