Chainsaw Man discussion thread

hey guys why did fumiko say that hearing and cell phones were still around when we clearly saw people ditching their phones in the previous chapter

Because the cell phones still exist, even if they are now useless ( ngl, these people are dumb pretty sure you could still play the snake game at that time, wich is more than enough reason to keep them. )

130 year olds on their death bed after the aging devil is erased from existence right before they were about to escape the fog (the fog is coming)

Death is inevitable even without aging. Don't be silly.
i guess inevitable is the wrong word. i mean unavoidable, under safe and healthy conditions eternal life would be theoretically possible (until some cosmic event destroys the planet)

the overpopulation devil would have a field day however

And the rise in fear of death will increase as a human life would be much more valuable now that they can't die by natural causes

Without Aging, people can't have children. How can a foetus develop when it doesn't age? Children will never become adults. Erasing aging will doom all life.
Repeat with me! The future... is bleak!

If aging gets erased that means the population will stagnate, and with devils on the loose more and more people will die. This will lead to a decline, thus forcing humanity closer and closer to dying out. Now, whether this means it would empower the death devil or an extinction devil, I don't know. I just see it that Humanity will fear the erasure of aging in the long run.

Chainsaw Man just needs to spit out those endings that aren't Death and Death Devil will get nerfed.

People get to live with the belief they'll die peacefully in their beds, that fantasy disappears alongside Aging. They are now guaranteed to have a horrible death.
That is not a fantasy I've ever had. Aging being gone is definitely hurting the death devil as that's one less way humans have to worry about dying. Age related problems? gone. Degeneration of mental faculties leading to extremely sad goodbyes with loved ones? Gone. The concept of death being inevitable and inescapable? Gone. The certainty that you are going to die eventually disappears and from then on out the only things that would cause death would be factors infinitely more within our control than the concept of aging.

"We got rid of the only relatively peaceful way to die, your death is now guaranteed to be filled with suffering!" Hmm yes I'm sure this will make people less afraid of death.

This isn't true! Death is still just as inevitable! You are going to get sick and die, you are going to die in an accident, you are going to be murdered, you are going to be brutally killed by a Devil. Dying of old age IS the ideal fantasy death.

I'm assuming Pochita just wants to help the War Devil, just as he wanted to help the Control Devil, since they all have dreams that nearly seem impossible and probably means them no harm? I see no other reason why Pochita would spare Yoru's life.

Chap felt a bit short as usual. Pochita stays cooking as usual. Katana man is washed as usual. After Yoru lost her arm I think she accepted that she was cooked but I'm unsure of what happened at the end though...

I'm assuming it's a flashback since at the end of the page, in the bottom left, you see a shade of black filling the space. If Pochita wanted to kill Yoru, he would have done it the moment she fell out of the sky. But he spared her, and she seemed in shock as Pochita stopped in front of her. This means the next chapter might reveal why Pochita spared her life, or it could be a flashback of an event between Yoru and Pochita, or possibly the Four Horsemen vs Prime Pochita. Fujimoto cant keep writing this peak and leaving me on a 2 week break

I was wondering how Pochita is easily defeating the Aging Devil and his strikes. It made no sense since the Aging Devil theirself is a Primordial Devil, so his power should be above Pochita's. But then I looked back and found a statement from Barem, which means the current Pochita is now Primordial level and is at his strongest. I can only imagine how strong Chainsaw Man would be if we do end up seeing him again.

Current Pochita is probably the strongest version, logically.

Pochita has always been the Devil That Devils Fear Most. As a bonus, humanity fears Chainsaws, which while far less than devils still provided him with fear.

Now, Pochita is still the DTDFM and is feared by humanity just as much as Aging or Sickness is. Pochita is probably the second strongest devil in existence right now.

I also wanted to speak on the current art style because, allegedly, Fujimoto doesn't have an assistant helping him out currently. I encourage him to get an assistant as soon as possible because I’d say it’s extremely unhealthy to be drawing a mainstream manga all by yourself without any assistance while delivering what is, honestly, mediocre art. This is what we were getting in early Part 2, and this is what we are getting now. Here’s Katana Man in the latest chapter, walking down a road in a similar fashion to Denji on the last page of Part 1. You can tell something is causing a decrease, and I can only hope he will eventually be assisted, or if we get a Part 3, the art returns to its previous visual peak without fluctuating over time.

Yes and no, since aging isn’t a think anymore that means food stops growing and will eventually starve to death. Plus that also means all the pregnant women that wanted to have babies can’t because the fetus stops aging and depending on how old said fetus was before aging stops thing can get very complicated real fast. Plus devil attacks are still a thing so people can still get murdered pretty horribly. There’s probably a couple other factors I’m not thinking of but generally speaking this leads to a lot more cons then pros

It seems like the Aging Devil is more of an "Oldness" Devil than anything, so I don't think it being gone would stop crops from growing and such

Funmy how all of his assistants end up leaving and making their own peak manga eventually.

That's is not the case at all. Do you consider living you life in your 20's as living a life of fear and suffering? Because at literally any point in your life you can die a horrible death in any number of ways besides natural age yet people consider being young and free to do whatever the "Prime of your life". People aren't deathly afraid of dying when their young and full of vigor as that's not something and average human takes into account at all. Being immortal and not having to worry about a 100% certain form of death is absolutely something that would hurt the death devil as like mentioned above every other form of death has some manner of way you can mitigate the chances of it happening or at least appear to mitigate the chances. Even if you are correct and death is 100% unavoidable in some way the average lifespan of humans would skyrocket to over 1000 years old, which would once again be a determent to the death devil as I'm pretty sure no human alive would say living longer is a bad thing.
