With no equal stats, doesn't that mean Boss wins pretty easily?

I mean, even with equal stats, Boss is far above him in the skill department, able to deal with magnaguards in CQC. Take down scores of enemy troops, and he's probably the best fighter in Delta Squad, but thats debatable. Even so, considering how good of fighters they all are, he's much more skilled then Rex was.
